A few injuries now, some long term. Aluko, Leigh, Burgess, Camara.

We've a squad of 25 including Humphreys and 3 goalkeepers. With Burns away, and excluding Hayes, that's 19 available for Sunday.

Not sure who misses out, I'd guess Ahadme or Humphreys. I recall Humphreys was considered at LB ahead of Bailey Clements last year and played there in the U23s at Watford. I wonder if this is his opportunity, especially as Davis rarely plays the full 90mins.

Presumably this stress fracture has been identified when he joined up with Jamaica national squad ? If so that leaves a question mark over our medical team at Town which we hoped had been cleared up in the management changes of the last couple of years.

If you read the story it said, they thought it was a bruised bone and took him back to town (after sheff wed) to do more scans. He never made it to Jamaica.

To be fair at the beginning of the season all 3 of those were viewed as bench players, as well as they have been playing.

Trying to remain positive, least it's not Walton, Woolfy and Morsy.

A fair point and we should still more than enough quality to get us through

But he joined up with the squad before travelling ? Sorry, I rarely click through onto Twitter or FaceBook.

It does strike me that players get more injuries these days. I know that Beattie had his issues, and George Burley missed a fair chunk of the 80-81 season, but apart from that I don't remember long-term injuries being much of an issue in those days. You certainly can't put it down to season length, given the number of games we played in 80-81, but perhaps the greater intensity of exercise these days has its drawbacks. I suppose the other issue is that players are larger these days, which might have an impact in terms of collisions.

Even though conditioning and strengthen and general fitness levels are better - you only need look at the way the game is played now.

KM has got this team working off the ball at a heck of a rate and it isn't just 1 or 2 players - it's the whole team.

This is one of the reasons why Klopp, for example, can burn players out.

Probably worth noting that very few players these days will play injury or niggle free.

You can’t prepare for this level of injury so early in the season, with Burgess, Aluko & Leigh out for a significant period - and Ahadme & Camara with slight niggles.

However we do have versatile players that could adapt, Dom Ball in the back 3, Cameron Humphreys at LWB for example.

A blow of course, but not panic stations at all.

You can't just keep injecting them with cortisone and wonder why they can't run anymore aged 31.

Plus, sports science has evolved considerably over the last 40 years. We are considerably less likely to allow keys players to soldier on with progressing injuries via the use of cortisol injections ala Beattie nowadays.

Flip - we seem to be getting a number of serious injuries at the mo.

Quite different form to muscle pulls and tweaks to previous times. Nothing we can do, but glad we’ve got a strong squad.

It would be in previous years. But we have such a versatile squad we can move around players without it actually reducing the quality of the side.
