Covid 14:48 - Jan 12 with 492 viewscatch74

Figures in Surrey fell for the first time in weeks today - but wondering if a weekend lag has anything to do with it. Fingers crossed we’re on the way down.
The most concerning thing I’m hearing, from the in laws - based in the Epping Forest hotspot - is that quite a few people have got Covid for the second time, having had it in the early stages. There’s also been someone who had a positive result in December and in bed, did the isolation, had a negative test - so they could return and are now really ill in bed again and tested positive.
Wonder how long the vaccine will be effective for and hoping the above are in the minority and that antibodies generally remain effective for a good amount of time.

Government data via the CIS and REACT programme is showing the first signs of things getting less worse in some areas of London and the SE. Very early signs and from a shocking base level.

The worry is that even if things get better we still can't really ease the lockdown because the new B117 variant will mean things will rocket again.

It's all on the vaccinations now.
