I have no real idea what you are on about here, and at best I think you are very much putting words in my mouth - I haven't said I don't rate him, I've said it would be a decent signing and a good bit of business.

I just think it is very much recency bias for people to think he is the best player we faced this season because he played well against us in the most recent game

Fleetwood was one of few teams I watched us play twice this season and he was easily their main threat in those matches, the away leg saw Kenlock get dropped for a while.

You're right with the recency bias though, I thought that when voting for him but couldn't remember any stand out players from the other games. I only watched the Peterborough home game and they looked very ordinary.

Poll: An interesting day for our politicians, but which one is worse?

It's recency bias because you say it is. Nothing more. Does it really matter that people voted him as the best player we faced? Each to to their own and all that.

Yep, it is a hard question to answer and must throw up some random ones - and often those who have been the better players in the league get votes when they haven't played well (or even sometimes at all!) against us!

Was quite excited before I read that!

In his defence, last season he spent 9 games at right back, 10 as a wing back and just 12 as a forward player. I think he'd be a good signing. Not earth shattering, but good.

Gwion Edwards was right back last season a lot as well.....!

I agree with the general thrust of your view though - good signing.

Kind of goes against the "Think Higher" grain though doesn't it.

I'm assuming that not all the signings can be "think higher" so we will need good L1 players as well and I think he fits that bill (from my admittedly limited knowledge of him).

Yes, I was being slightly facetious there, agreed they all can't be glamour signings, we will need to add some fillers, he certainly seems versatile and at a decent age too.

Yep, ticks a lot of boxes, given Cook's desire for a smaller but flexible squad. Good age. Really good League One player but probably not someone you'd hang your hat on in the Championship.

Think Higher is going to be next to impossible with restraints in place for most signings.

We may be able to make 3 or 4 marquee style ones, but marquee is a Sonny Bradley type.

I would have been more than happy with someone like Bradley, him alongside Wolfie would have been a brilliant partnership for next season (If Luke stays..)

Yep, would have been a big statement signing, but feels a bit sad calling someone like that a 'marquee' signing for Ipswich Town!

Yep, it's just a sad realisation of where we are, hopefully in time we will have some sexier names, but at the moment we just need enough quality to get out of this league.

not much last season, I don't think? Just during Paul Cook's 3-5-2 experiment. Whoscored says twice.

He ran Kenlock ragged in the defeat at Fleetwood....

He's also been one of Fleetwood's most consistent performers over the last couple of years and they've been hovering around the top six in that time.

Is getting the best of the worst left back we've had in twenty years the benchmark we really ought to be aiming for?

No chance.

It's a massively depressed market.

I'd be surprised if we have to pay more than 150-200k plus Donacien IMO.

150k as expected.

Absolute snip at League 1 level.
