Very impressive stuff at times today 20:36 - Aug 13 with 3608 viewstextbackup

So many positives to take from it. from Ladapo leading the line selflessly, Burns getting a goal, JD once again playing fantastic, Harness really shining, and Davis looking every part the £1m fullback.

But looking at it from a "where do we improve" perspective....

- Wolf had a very poor game IMO, and i rate him highly normally. Could see another 2/3 games like that an he'll find himself on the bench with Keogh slipping in his place.

- our final ball. had we won that 6-0 today it woulld have been deserved, but we waste so many chances due to that final killer ball.

- a goal scorer to come on. would be great to have someone to come on as a sub with 20 to go that gave a real goal threat, and can chip in with 5-10 over a season, i just cant see that with the forwards we have on the bench.

MK dons - respect for trying to play football, they are doing it the right way, but we wont have many easier games than that this season IMO. played right into our hands. if theyd stuck 10 behind the ball i'm not sure we'd be as happy as we are right now.

However, 3 games in, unbeaten, and sitting top. lovely old day

Agree with all of that. Wolf is ok in a 3 but my unpopular town opinion is that he isn’t all that. Can’t drop a defender after a clean sheet but I would think it would be him, if anyone, who makes way for Keogh. For now though, Woolf starts.

But yeah. Every word you said.

A lovely 'ol day indeed mate, managed to get a ticket in the SBRL from a ST holder who couldn't go and I've got say I haven't had a better day watching Town for a bloody long while, that's recharged my batteries as so often when I'm down they let me down...

The absolute sitter of a header they missed in the first half was for me a big moment, I'll give him the benefit and say thankfully it was a tad high, we got away with that..

Where did you sit? So difficult in lower to get any real idea(especially up the other end)on positions/moves/performances etc to be honest, that's the only beauty with being in Co-Op high up, I can study so much more....but loved being "amongst it" today, shame that the lower(Co-Op end)can't sing what's being sung by section 6, not sure how you solve that one, they're in their own little world at times...

...and then to cap it off I had Man U getting battered by Brentford whilst back up the A14, even that dreadful concrete section near BSE wasn't spoiling it....

I do think we need a big nasty striker to come off the bench agree there, not sure who, but a real handful with 20 minutes to go would be a good option, someone who has been there and done it, a good back to goal striker for when we play sides who come and camp in their own box, a Col U type, they will turn up here, no doubt about that..

Think Jackson will get 5-10 over the course of the season against tiring defences. Aluko should probably have left a chance for him today when they were both running through.

We play our best team performance for a very long time but yet some seem to find negatives. Amazing!!

Woolf did not have a very poor game, who set up Donacien for his run in for the first game?

Two mis passes out of how many??

Waste chances, every team does that, therefore you do not see many 6-0 results

A goal scorer to come on, we brought on two but the ball was not played to them despite their off the ball running looking for spaces!

Yes, lovely old day!!

MK Dons aren't what they were last season, but worth noting that Sheffield Wednesday weren't nearly so dominant as we were.

You can only beat the opposition you are up against and we spent plenty of time in the last few seasons failing to do that.

Jackson looked really sharp when he came on.

JD - awesome.

Aluko - looked very dangerous.

Love it.

Agree with all of that! Not sure why he was firing his crosses in waist height at 100pmh, but good to see Burns at his usual threatening best. Would’ve loved edwards to score when he came on, felt like he missed a good chance to shoot when he tried to lay someone off soon after coming on.

Can only assume Woolf had an Ipswich win and both teams to score on his accumulator….

Whilst its not my job, its KMc's and his staff, i'm purely looking where we can improve.
so dont be a d1ckhead.

Wolf was sloppy on the ball, got caught out a few times. i'm not alone in noticing that, also added i really rate him.

"we brought on two" we brought on jackson and JJ, i know very little of JJ, but i know jackson isnt really much of a goal scorer

JD was 100% the best player out there
Burns too, much closer to his former self
Agree Woolfie was poor but I also think Leif never plays or warrants that million pound price tag, never , sorry not a fan

"- our final ball. had we won that 6-0 today it woulld have been deserved, but we waste so many chances due to that final killer ball."

That's the key one for me, and was the same against Bolton too. Seems picky after a 3-0 win, but too many times we got into excellent positions but didn't even get a shot off. That will come in time I'm sure. One thing is for certain though, we are getting into a lot more attacking situations than last season.

We’ve rarely, if ever in recent times have seen our team get to this level, sustain it then see the other team make little/no impact. ITFC as promotion hopefuls is a work in progress, at times against MKD it looked like we didn’t even know what to do with all the possession. If we continue like this the confidence grows and the goals tally goes up.

Leif has hd three league games.

If you can’t see that he’s starting to turn into that million pound player already then you don’t understand football.

Nice of you to give Davis ~200 minutes before making your decision on him.

Ridiculous.

Good summary there.
I honestly think another striker, someone who can play, the traditional number 9 role and we are all set. That isn't a criticism of ladapo by the way,3 games in and you can see how vital he is in this system. The goals will come for him, but,an injury or suspension for him and we don't have anyone else IMO who can do a similar job.

And he’s not finished 1 of them - ain’t that a worry
With all due respect spending that amount of money on a relatively unknown left back is crazy IMO
Irregardless how much I know it don’t know about football !

I'd be more worried if we weren't replacing davis for leigh tbh.. means both get game time. Davis can run his as off for 6o odd minutes and then we have leigh to bust a gut for 30.

a niche perspective

We need a goalscorer, if we had one we would have won 6-0 yesterday.

In tight games when one goal matters we end up drawing as we have not got a killer upfront.

No team is successful without a 15+ goal striker and the lad we have is not going to do it. We need to spend the £££ to get someone in as Jackson is the same, no goal threat.

Not sure how you can say ANY defender "had a very poor game" after a clean-sheet win.
