Realistic target for next 5 games 11:40 - Mar 8 with 4454 viewsquirkie

Entering the business end of things now, and the next 5 games on paper look tough.

Bolton A - Draw 1-1
Shrewsbury H- Win 2-0
Barnsley A - Draw 2-2
Derby A - Win 1-0
Wycombe H - Win 2-1

11 pts from 15 and I think even though we have hit some sort of form that may be a tad optimistic.

I'm feeling very bullish.

We've been dominant in terms of quality and chance creation against virtually every team, virtually all season. Other teams know what we are capable of.
We've added some directness as an unpredictable tactical variation to our game, and it has unlocked (admittedly poorer) teams. Being less predictable, we are harder to defend against.
Confidence is sky high, key players are fit.
All of those opponents are under pressure to keep or achieve a play-off position.
We are hungry and hunting Plymouth. Our disappointment at dropping out of the top two is behind us. Probably only Barnsley are in a similar 'hunting' mode now.

I'm going for either 11 or 13 points, unbeaten, and there's absolutely no reason why this quality, fired-up and focussed group of players can't do that.

COYB!

I'm honestly at peace with the playoffs and think we'll go into them deservedly as favourites (ignoring bookmaker odds which will see us that by default). Being em on!

We had two opportunities to show we're better than Plymouth and we couldn't. Held a very good account of ourselves in the first match, their quality players just stood taller, and didn't do enough in the second to say we were robbed by the late equaliser. They now have 5 more points than us having played almost all their high difficulty games - they'd probably be ahead of the curve if we switched our points around given fixtures to come!

However! The belief must be coursing through the veins of our players once more and we're more than capable of winning each one taken in isolation. Let's make Plymouth sweat with 13 points - draw to Barnsley after going behind in the first half.

Aye why not. That's the spirit. 10 would be doing pretty well imo, but with my hopeless fan hat on I still hope we can catch Argyle so yeh, 11 or 13 innit.

If Plymouth win Saturday, for me, top 2 is completely over (I’m 99% sure it is anyway)

Well you can get 5/6 at BetVictor about Plymouth making the top two, so if you're 99% sure, that seems an inviting opportunity...

Interestingly most bookies have us similar or slightly shorter odds than Plymouth for 'promotion'. How much that reflects our chances of catching Plymouth, our relative chances (cf Plymouth) in the play-offs, or betting trends I wouldn't like to hazard a guess.

If we get 11 points I'd be happy.

People are too quick to write us off. Plymouth are good at home, but a record of 6 wins in 17 away games, they've definitely got scope to drop points.

Barnsley are top of the form charts so I'm hopeful they won't win there.
Accrington on a Tuesday night. No-one wants that. Lost 6/16, though most of the "top" teams have won there.
Morecombe - Lost 5/18 at home
Exeter, not bad at home. Lost 5 / 16
Shrewsbury - 6/17 losses at home, but not many draws - Sh!t or bust there haha
Port Vale - Last game and beat them at home.

Definitely scope to drop points away. However its their home form and the teams at home I'd be worried about!

I get the point our games are harder, and I agree but if we keep winning, they'll drop points.

Trying to be positive OK? haha

So far this season they've dropped 1.53 ppg away from home. At that rate they'd drop enough 9 points by the end of the season.

That record has got worse of late though. Last 5 games they've dropped 10 points. Continue in that vein and they'll drop another 12.
