Between The Lines, The Irreverent Poetry Of Ipswich Town. No.33 - Unconventions
by The_Flashing_Smile Wed 25th Feb 2026
Well this was much better, unconventionally so. A solid, largely untroubled away win, with a couple of unconventional goals. And even - unconventionally by Town’s standards - a penalty save. Suddenly we’re all unconventionally happy again!

Farke’s assistant frustrated as Leeds fail to take something from City game
[Leeds United]
Once again we gave a good account of ourselves against Manchester City, but again we finished the game pointless after failing to take any of our chances while we were on top. And after Daniel Farke’s meltdown after the final whistle, Eddie Riemer had to do the honours in the press conference.

A Rough Guide To Fulham
[Southampton]
After a trip to a good old fashioned football ground in Hillsborough as opposed to a stadium or arena, we visit Craven Cottage, another stadium that harks back to the stadium designs of the past.

Chesterfield Vs U's Match Preview
[Colchester United]
Spireites to be demolished, destroyed, dismantled, razed, felled, pulverised, decimated, obliterated. Durham has probably used most, if not all of those in his past Spireites v U's reviews. All are associated with Durham's fascination with the twisted spire of St Mary and All Saints Church in Chesterfield. One season, when visiting me for the match he insisted we actually visited the church prior to the game as it was within walking distance to Spireites old ground of Saltergate, a very close replica of Layer Road; old, decrepit, puddles in the gents loo, etc... but always had a great atmosphere.
