Shopping List 13:57 - May 31 with 4699 views | itfcsuth | Will post my list and then see where we are come the start of the season. Do you agree? I'll start by saying I think we only need a couple of additions, a few tweaks but nothing drastic. Sonny Bradley - left footed highly experienced central defender who would fill that void left by Richard Keogh, just with more years ahead of him and genuine competition for Burgess. As a free agent it looks as good a business as we could do in that role. Scott Twine - Would probably be a loan, but would be a big upgrade on Edwards and Harness, given he didn't get into Burnley side last season, a move away looks likely. Joel Piroe - the clinical striker, would probably cost a decent fee, but at 23 has future sale value, and has proven over two seasons his clinal prowess. Likely to see more out than in, with the likes of; Pigott, Harness, Edwards, Harper, Ahadme people we will all listen to offers on, with El Miz, Ndaba and Baggott probably back on the loan market. Let's see how the window unfolds.

Shopping List on 15:10 - May 31 by Steve_M | Twine, a player who doesn't do very much when he hasn't got the ball, is in no way an upgrade or Harness or Edwards. We already have Lee Evans if we want an immobile player who is decent on the ball. |
Lee Evans. As in POTS Lee Evans prior to his injury last season? Righto.
Shopping List on 06:05 - Jun 1 with 1123 views | PioneerBlue | Have we agreed on the recruiting positions? Striker 10/RAMf CMf LCB Assuming Aluko and Luongo sign. That - if 4 rather than 3 - via a player that can do 2 roles will require a decision on Evo, Camera or both and potentially then likes of Jackson. We have 2-3 slots based on end of last season named 22 (that can now be 23 + 2 GKs). In summary, we can do up to 3 but 4 requires hard conversations with squad members. 10/RAMf is either to share role with Burns or if Harness can do that it’s to share role with Broadhead.

Agree with them positions other than a CM as things stand. Morsy, Luongo, Ball, Evans, Camara, Humphreys, El Mizouni. That’s more than enough quality and depth right now. Of course that’s subject to Luongo remaining (which I’m sure he will), and no other outgoings - exc El Miz, Humphreys on loan.

Shopping List on 23:54 - May 31 by Churchman | The club made it clear that it only interested players that wanted to be here. 32 in September Bradley didn’t two years ago, if memory serves me right. Ok, fair enough, but why would he want to come now? Pension £££? We could possibly do with a high quality experienced centre half who is fit, happy to play a Keogh style role if necessary. Goodness knows where you find one of those! No, not broken down old hasbeen 6 starts in 4 years Jones either. But our defence as it stands is good. Luongo and and Hirst obviously, but I’d also get Luca Connell in if possible. 22 and already a cracking player. Any speculation is of course tempered rules (squad size), budget how our younger players like Humphreys are doing - another pre season and break will do him the world of good. |
I think he wanted to play Championship football, I think we offered more money than Luton but didn’t want to drop down to L1. So I don’t think it would be about money for Bradley - may be family situation or game time though which could put him off the move. But if he wanted to be here, you wouldn’t find a better option in the market that ticks all the right boxes for us. [Post edited 1 Jun 2023 12:24]

Shopping List on 22:31 - May 31 by olimar | Yeah, they are going to have a lot of changes going on and many of them will be their own choice, especially with a new manager. Bringing in a couple of million for a kid they probably arent sure about, maybe with a first option on him in future, would make a lot of sense. |
It may come down to whether they see us as genuine contenders. If they do, they are unlikely to want to sell to us, but might well sell him/loan him elsewhere.

If they dont rate him to do a job for them, they probably arent too fussed about us taking him. Especially if we are prepared to pay the fee- and I wonder how many others will be in a position to do that on what is potentially a risk (though not so much for us maybe).

At best he is going to start this season as 5th choice CM. I suspect there is a chance he will go if the deal is right. The Championship is a different beast, it's almost a pre-requisite that you need to have dynamism/mobility to play or you'll get overrun and lose your battles. Even in L1, we saw the difference that Luongo made to the side.

Shopping List on 15:19 - May 31 by itfcsuth | He is a definite upgrade on Harness and Edwards, without a doubt. A talented player, as good as ball striker as you'll see, and would be a great option as one of the pocket players for us. Don't know what you mean as doesn't do much without the ball. |
Really not convinced on Twine to be honest. He doesn't have the attributes of the players we like in that area of the pitch, he's basically Scott Fraser with a good strike and we know how badly we struggled to accommodate him into our system. I don't think he has the movement and directness that we like from our number 10s.
