NORWICH (H) TICKET DETAILS on 17:36 - Nov 21 with 2357 viewsLongLegs

Scenario I have,

I qualify with the SB membership, no worries there.

However I regularly purchased 3 tickets to games last year with my membership. The other 2 people only got a SB membership this year. Assuming I can't transfer these tickets to their SB membership this year to allow them to qualify?

I understand what there trying to do, its just bit of a pain

Finding opponents more than they fund ITFC. People who do should donate the difference to ITFC to offset the financial support they give to teams that are trying to stop us achieving ur goals.

Would a £40 charge at the start of the season seem reasonable compensation?

Scenario…

Dad and son go to 3 matches.

Dad is the “purchaser” of all 6 tickets obviously.

Son is only the “owner” of 3, but hasn’t “purchased” any.

Does son qualify?

If they were assigned to the son under his number then son qualifies.

I strongly suspect that this means that there is a record on their membership account of them having a ticket for three different home games, irrespective of who paid for it.

You’d hope so! Thanks!

I have some sympathy with this, making sure you are on the school register for each game you attend has only become a thing this season, which has caught a number of folk out. The reality is it would be really difficult to retrospectively update records and would be open to abuse by some fans.

It hasn’t only become a thing this season at all, it’s always been the case for Norwich away for those that got priority letters, it’s the same as when people had to produce x amount of stubs for Wembley in 2000, just electronically.

It’s common sense, well always has been to me, buy a ticket on your own customer number, all of the time.

If they bought the membership.... on 17:13 - Nov 21 by Bloots

....for home matches then why haven't they actually used it for that?

What you really mean is that they bought it for this match specifically.

Nobody appears to be talking about the fact that norwich fans could have used that approach too, now they can't.

I talked about the Norwich point yesterday and whether additional measures would be required or if cross-checking databases was possible.

Your middle paragraph will be mistaken for many and correct for many. The two on the edge of Europe bought for Stoke, Norwich, Leicester, the playoffs and two consecutive fixtures in the middle of April, think Watford's one - essentially when they're in the UK visiting plus the big ones. It's likely there will be non-ST members on one or two home matches so far, possibly due to work, location or cost, some of whom will have watched us away as well. You can criticize their loyalty but they'll have put it more than a lot of the plus-ones the club have prioritized instead by adopting this change.

Many ST holders won't be aware but sitting together in non-restricted seats is apparently a challenge for many games this season. Plenty will have paid to benefit from the slightly reduced prices, sitting together and choosing a stand, and will be aiming to catch a handful, perhaps two handfuls of matches including the obvious one.

Priority should always be given to people that fund ITFC over those that fund against ITFC. Only money to ITFC helps our ability to improve under FFP.

To me it seems pretty fair even though it's hard luck on people who only bought membership to get a ticket for Norwich. It's rewarding loyalty. I wonder if there will be enough to go round members who have been to at least three home matches in er... thirty one matches is it?

Tough titties on the glory boys and girls, sorry :)

N.B. I have an ST but no membership this season as I'm less able to get to aways atm.

My bad I didn't read the dates! 😂

That's a very low bar isn't it you're all quite right.

Not if the difference between what you're saying opponents and what you pay Town is more than £40.

So people who attend home games are more loyal than those who spend thousands following us to far flung grounds on a wet cold Tuesday night? Not sure I agree with that tbh...
Maybe we should just charge away fans £60 a ticket whilst we are at it...after all it's all FFP...maybe put the price of home tickets up too to ensure that only 'true' fans come and watch us?

I have the exact same problem - we live a few hours away and my dad has only managed to come twice this year, came plenty of times last year however those tickets are all under my name.

I think it makes sense what they are doing but would be a shame to miss out in that way. Does anyone have a supporter liaison contact?

Bit of a dilemma for me. My dad and I have been to an awful lot of home matches, and the odd one away when we can get a ticket. My brother on the other hand, is listed as having only attended two at home whereas he regularly attends away. More annoyingly, he has been to about five home games in the timeframe, but three of those were not under his customer number as he was just a guest of my dad on the system. Don't often get to go as a three so was looking forward to this but now might have to buy two on the first day, and then try our hardest to get a third anywhere we can when it opens up for all the other members.

Don't have any issue with what they're doing, makes sense to reward loyalty, especially as so many have signed up just for this game, but this is definitely a pain in the arse for me, and more specifically, for my brother.

Bit shocked they’ve switched the order, didn’t realise when I first read it that non s/t members are after s/t members, surely that’s an error?

Yeah, I felt like there was an intermediate step missing

If you cannot get to home games normally, then why should you suddenly be able to make the Norwich game?

I have the perfect example for you.

I only get to go to home games when I venture my lazy bottom down back South.

I had seen the fixtures and if available, I could have made the trip home to see my loved ones for 5 minutes before heading off and getting to see something/someone that I actually love at Portman Road and it just so happens it's a derby.

Again, to reiterate, it's a fair system. Little point in complaining. Next time we play them at home in 2042, I'll make sure I have seen enough home games.

I think you are taking my post too literally.

You are right, it was a thing 23 years ago, and has been a thing for Norwich away games. However, for some of these matches we had ticket stubs rather than electronic records.

It has only really become a BIG thing this season as demand for home and away tickets now exceeds supply for almost every game and if you do not sign the register when attending the club think your playing truant, and you have to sit on the naughty step..

Surely the main reason for buying a membership.... on 17:00 - Nov 21 by Bloots

....is to get access to away tickets early?

If it was bought to get access to home matches then they would surely have been to 3 home matches by now?

The only other reason it could have been bought was purely to get access to the norwich match, if so, then tough titties.

Absolutely this. If you can’t be bothered to attend 3 out of our last 29 home games, you don’t deserve a ticket for Norwich, it’s simple really.

Making me laugh seeing all the people use all the excuses about work etc, but are able to sort that for the Norwich game.

I think the point a lot of people are making is that they have attended way more than 3 games (home and away) but still miss the criteria. It's a bit late to tell people they should have registered more games on their membership last season when it wasn't a requirement at that point.

Edit: or may have been a requirement for the last time we played Norwich donkeys ago

I get the frustration, but as others have said, it’s pretty naive not to put tickets in said person(s) name.

Sitters quite rightly pointed out, Norwich away has always been on a loyalty point basis where you had to purchase tickets under your name, same with Wembley.

The club were never going to please everybody regardless what they done, I don’t quite agree with ST holders getting extra priority after having a ticket already resevrved, but it is what it is.
