Back to the championship with Preston.
I know it's probably as a back up but how an earth is he a championship keeper..
Part of the dark post Bart pre Walton times.

He's only a Championship keeper if he plays league games.

Some keepers are happy to take the back up role, knowing they won't play.

Think there was a chance he may have been coming back to us, saw him in Woodbridge a couple of weeks ago and he said he was waiting to hear whether he’d be staying in the area. Fair play to his agent.

Can't disagree with that. He's managed to get his 4th division standard client a second divison contract.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

He still lives locally so sure he'd have jumped at the chance at coming back here as a number 2 - with the way we play as well with keeper needing to be better at his feet I think he'd have been a decent back up but feels as though the GK team like tall rangy GKs with Walton and Hayes, and then link with Walker - just not too tall!

I thought he was poor. Shot stopping not too bad, but his command of his 6 yard box* was appalling.

(*I can remember when keepers were allowed to control their whole penalty area - TWTD!)

Have to say I thought he was rather better than Holy. Some way off Walton, obviously, but would be OK as a back-up.

I think there'll be other interested parties, assuming Aberdeen have moved on and don't want a second keeper. Think Joe Lewis is their second choice and seems happy to be the number two.
