BANTER ERA NOV 2007 - APRIL 2023 09:55 - Feb 13 with 89578 viewschicoazul

What's your personal highlight of the Banter Era?
For me, the way Delaney told Jewell he was off to live in New York and needed to be let go, and then turned up at Palace a month or so later and enjoyed a promotion and a long career in the top flight.
I also like very much the fact Jewell signed Ingimarsson (sp) simply because they were at the same resort on holiday at the same time and Ingi did of course turn out to be an absolute knacker of a player.
Also the gangsters arriving at Playford Rd looking for Chopra.
What are yours?

Does losing a pre season friendly against Cambridge to a Paul Digby goal count?

The whole photograph fiasco surely makes it in.

One for the future - Joe Garner hat trick first day of the season.

Chico is to blame for this. I told him to call an end to the banter era before the season began but he didn't. He has condemned us all.

Chico...for the love of god just call and end to it

Very good run of form and one team leak on TWTD.

Not a single team leak on TWTD and absolutely terrible run of form.

= TWTD to blame for poor form.

- Phil being banned from press conferences.
- An inability to beat anyone in the top 6 and now stuggling to even score against them.
- Signing Josh Harrop on loan only for him to get Covid straight away.
- Donacien going on loan and subsequently playing pretty well.

When will this nonsense end?

Jonas Kndusen's long throws leading to as many goals conceded as goals scored, and the team continuing to use it for three years despite this.

And then Denmark scoring from one after 50 seconds in a World Cup knockout match

Harrop in particular is superb Banter Era. You watch the whole lot of them come down with it now.

Swapping Matt Clarke plus cash for Adam Webster in 2016.
Selling Adam Webster and purchasing Toto Nsiala as a replacement in 2018.
In 2019 both Adam Webster and Matt Clarke are bought by Premier League side, Brighton.
Meanwhile Toto and ITFC are relegated to League 1.

Thought maybe it was time to pull this thread up again, anything else we can add? I'm aware this thread might come to a natural end soon! (Hopefully)

I'm thinking we should add PL saying that you can't run a club on loans, then bringing in more loans than we can have in a squad. Oh, including sending out our only other senior full back on loan (Donacien, a player who has already been subject to one story here) only to replace him with another loan. A young player, no less, who a) has goes against the idea that we want to develop our own youth players and b) has only been played once or twice

We're going to get into the play-offs on the last day of the season, scrape our way to the final and win that with no fans there for the first promotion in 21 years. Absolutely perfect way to bring the Banter Era to a fitting conclusion.

- Lambert gone.
- Performances have got better.
- Evans potentially going (or to 5%).
- Judge has started to score .
- Wilson is playing like Maldini.
- Bishop is reguarly playing 90 mins and has turned into a box to box midfielder.
- Myles Kenlock is seeing ones and zeros in the footballing matrix as the Neo of Ipswich Town.

I think we’ll close it with the new Owners brother. Our rebirth as The Tractor Men England Franchise will spell the end of all banter.

Performances haven't got better though. Plenty of rejoicing and optimism after yesterday's name and rightfully so, but let's wait and see what the players do on Saturday before we declare this a great week.

Evans appoints a potentially very decent manager but not telling him he was going to sell the club and then he goes ahead and sells the club and this pi55es Cook off who then leaves himself. Consider it a classic Epilogue of the banter era for the ages
