TEAM: Norwood and Drinan lead the line. on 17:51 - Apr 13 by jayessess | Hope I'm wrong, but looks like an awful line-up to me. We've gone from playing 2 up front to accommodate Jackson and Norwood, to playing it to get Drinan in the side? |
Bit odd isn't it? Trouble is, whatever formation you think of there are glaring weaknesses in the personnel. You could play Norwood up top on his own but we haven't got any decent wingers. You can play with wing backs like tonight, but we don't have any decent wingbacks. The only area where we're reasonably strong is CM, but we've not played to that strength tonight. Tonight's lineup smacks a bit of desperation, trying to find something that clicks. I suspect the outcome will be exactly the same as usual, but you never know I suppose. We live in hope and all that.

A manager in post for 2 years and 5 transfer windows who keeps chopping and changing has proved himself bad at his job. A manager in post for less than 2 months with players he didn't recruit who haven't produced anything for him doing it is him trying to work with what he has. Different things are different.

I can see the logic that Judge, Norwood and Edwards keep playing. They top our modest goal contribution stats. Swapping out the tired midfield 2 also has its logic, even if Harrop's not been good. Drinan? Strange one.

But Lambert isn’t a new manager looking to eak out some results from a very poor team.
