Always sad when "one of our own" flies the nest - sounds like he'll make a great manager, but just wasn't the right time for him to do it here. Maybe one day.

All the very best KD.

Strange, as I heard the complete opposite, that Dyer thought Cook and his team were unprofessional and Cook wasn't a fan of his.

All speculative obviously, and whispers to tend to get stretched on both sides.

you arent getting cook mixed up with lamberts squad are you, rumours abound that in training all kierons boys were a lot fitter than the first team squad.

I had heard a while back that Dyer was not happy, it was around the time Cook got sacked as I think they got on very well and Dyer felt Cook needed more time. He also wasn’t happy with things behind the scenes and even though Ashton says it’s a “surprise”, it isn’t as Dyer requested to leave earlier in the season.

Yep, I had heard similar earlier in the season. Was also surprised at McGreals appointment as he thought he had control of what went on in the 23’s set up … McGreal coming in certainly wasn’t something he was expecting.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

You can read that either way tho. Not surprised meaning he’s going onto bigger better things etc like first team manager? Could just be Norwood rating him.

Really, really sad to see this news.

I’ve no idea what brought it about, but is suspect that if it were health that would be alluded to in te statement. Ashtons vert short statement suggests it’s not a happy situation, and his comment about it being a ‘surprise’ means nothing. If KD was unhappy Ashton would have known about it - but probably thought KD wouldn’t actually resign.

If so, 1st black mark for MA in my book.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

If it was a surprise and just related to an unhappy work situation, he'd have been working a notice period surely?

No idea how ‘notice periods’ work in football. Never thought about it as it never seems to happen!

This is a strange one - defo feels like there is more to it than we’re currently being told.

Going to be an interesting tightrope act if he has fallen out with people at the club but what’s the fans to still through their weight behind the team. Intrigued as to what he’s going to say.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?
