I strongly suspect that at some point, a judge will declare it illegal then the REAL goal, the ongoing demonisation of the independent judiciary and 'interfering lawyers' and the subtle push for politically appointed judges will get a boost. [Post edited 19 Apr 2022 16:18]

The Home Secretary happy to deport people who'd lived in the UK for 50 years and to deny them the right to work or receive NHS treatment whilst under "investigation". ("Windrush") The Home Secretary that sent "Go Home" blazoned ad vans through London's East-end. Too extreme for her! "Hotel Rwanda" seems to be the Johnson family euphemism.

I must say that van must have had 1000s of these folk handing themselves in, much as with other threats, such as the TV licence warning stuck on the side of a van being driven around. Of course cynics will claim that it was only ever intended to cause alarm and fear, and to exaggerate the problem | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They already warned the lawyers off last week and will of course blame them when it is stopped. Their own internal lawyers have advised it is illegal too. Home Office whistle-blowers have already leaked that. As Joe says it is a distraction, but they will use it for their own gain further down the line

We already have a swathe of judges appointed by failing grayling, just to ensure the bar is set low.

Pah, that’s nothing! On Sunday the Tories were accused of being too evil by an organisation that’s covered up hundreds of cases of paedophilia and used to burn people alive for not believing hard enough. [Post edited 19 Apr 2022 19:33]
