Who was the keeper? 19:35 - Jan 25 with 6605 viewsbluelagos

So Clough's last match as a manager - was at Portman Rd. They lost, got relegated. (92/93 season)

But cyber pint for anyone who can name our goalie, without cheating.

I have an image in my head of Phil Parkes in tracksuit trousers facing a penalty at the North Stand end. Is this a true memory? Anyone remember the game?

Probably true, I think. It would have been this 3-2 win v Leicester, the last home game of the season:

Mills' goal for Leicester was an 84th minute penalty. I have a vague memory of Houghton scoring at the Churchmans end, so I think you're right that their pen was at the North Stand end.

We got tickets behind the dugouts for this game. I’d say Phil Parkes

As far as I remember it was a bit tasty that day with the Leicester fans running up and down the top of the boxes in the Cobbold.

33 years ago, ridiculous.

Got me thinking about the chap who wore a mask played a few games as custodian for us. Fred Barber?

I remember Clough's last game well. I had broken my leg earlier in the season, so had my season ticket moved to the front tier of the West Stand right down by the tunnel so I didnt have far to walk with my crutches. Consequently I had a great view as Clough made his entrance onto the pitch before the match. In true Cloughie style he milked it as the numerous photographers scrambled to get the best shot. Then from nowhere a elderly lady who must have been in her 80s came to the front of the stand and handed him a bouquet of flowers and gave him a kiss. Truely bizarre

They were already down before they played us that day. They had to beat Sheffield United at the City Ground a week or two earlier to keep their hopes alive, they lost 0-2. Our game didn't make any difference to their fate.
