Chambers 16:14 - Jan 2 with 2439 views | kizaitfc | Anyone else think he seemed to struggle Yesterday. I've never been a huge fan but I have always thought he added strength and stability to the back line, but focusing on his defending a few times yesterday and I thought he just looked out of his depth. He didnt do anything too noticeably wrong as such but just looked off the pace, he was too slow to various balls, wrong decisions made when he should have come to the ball or stood off, beaten too easily in the air or shrugged of the striker too easily, very slow at distributing the ball and often his passes ended up either hospital balls or straight to the opposition. It may just have been the case the lone striker had a very good game, I would definitely like to see more of him as he looked a real handful up top. [Post edited 2 Jan 2020 16:14]

Chambers on 16:16 - Jan 2 with 2020 views | itfcjoe | Samuel had a very good game but looked to me that Chambers was getting too tight to him and struggled when it was 1 vs 1 - definitely not one of his better games

Any knowledge of that Samuel, is he always that good. Is he worth having a look at signing?

Chambers on 16:21 - Jan 2 with 1975 views | WD19 | Wycombe has a good blend of movement, pace and power. On our side, with the wing backs pushing on, the central three were spread quite thin at times and 1-on-1 Chambers did variously get done for both strength and speed.
Chambers on 16:26 - Jan 2 with 1949 views | badadski | Check to see when we started to fall in the table a few seasons ago, to relegated to now. No coincidence Micma preferred him as a right back Never a Berra replacement and moving Chambers to centre has resulted in where we are now, that and not replacing our decent centre backs with quality replacements. Nothing against Chambers personally but for me, not a good enough centre back.
Chambers on 16:28 - Jan 2 with 1938 views | clive_baker | Yep, not for the first time either. He gets away with a lot among our fans and there are good reasons for some of that, I'm sure he does a lot, but purely on a footballing level he's struggling. I still think he's worthy of a place on the basis that we don't have anyone better to replace him with, but it's not an ideal situation.

First I've seen of him, but was very impressed with him - if I found out we were after him I'd be well happy based on that

Chambers on 16:30 - Jan 2 with 1918 views | ArnieM | Yes I made the observation to my friend that Chambo ( due to lack of leg speed now), tends to get into more “ wrestles “ with opponents as he tries to defend the ball against them, or in attempts to prevent opponents going past him. Sadly this may well be his last season as a regular ( especially if we do get promoted). But I must say , just because Chambers ( and Skuse for that matter ), are nearing the end if their playing careers, I don’t think they deserve the level of aggressive abuse they get , which I’ve seen sometimes on here or FB. It’s disrespectful and unacceptable IMO. Both players have given far more to this Club in their time here than some of the more “ fashionable “, and often prima dona like players we’ve had here. Ps I think some of those “ wrong decisions “ the OP speaks of regarding Chambers is because he is aware of his limitations but has to adjust his game in a split sr one in order to Maximilian effectiveness. Sometimes it comes off , so it doesn’t . Edit : typo errors , sorry ! [Post edited 2 Jan 2020 16:37]

Chambers on 16:31 - Jan 2 with 1911 views | Reuser_is_God | I am worried about Chambers. I thought after his struggles last year, both playing through injuries & the personal stuff he went through, & us dropping down a division he'd rediscover his form from the early Mick years but that sadly doesn't seem to be the case.

I think the same goes for any player IMO. At the end of the day we're in the 3rd tier, if any of our squad were capable of turning out better performances on a more consistent basis they wouldn't be playing for us. Footballers are human beings, they'll c0ck up occasionally. Paying for a ticket to watch a match doesn't entitle anyone to subject them to vitriolic abuse. Social media brings out the absolute worst of it too.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt last season due to reasons I've stated above however I do fear your statement may be correct.

I'd never heard of him until yesterday but the Sky guys were saying he shares the lone striker role with Akinfenwa so I assume he'll get more & more game time in the coming months due to Akinfenwas age etc He's far from prolific (according to wiki) but as everyone has alluded too he's much more than goals.

Chambers on 16:57 - Jan 2 with 1760 views | hampstead_blue | He's the type of player who uses his body language and being all shouty to cover-up his own lack of ability. I've never been a fan, never will. Can we have Tommy Smith back please. I'd take him alongside Wilson and the Woooolf

He seems quite small to play a lone striker/target man role. He was very lively and worked his socks off.
Chambers on 17:28 - Jan 2 with 1663 views | PJH | Chambers was certainly at fault by being the wrong side and getting out muscled when Wycombe should have scored in the first three or four minutes. Like most of the side he is not playing particularly well at the moment and he is one of the many that needs to improve his game.
Chambers on 17:43 - Jan 2 with 1610 views | Ftnfwest | In terms of the whole rotation thing, he’s the only one I agree should be rotated as one game a week certainly is the max for him now. He and Skuse are special cases really as both got decent contract extensions as part of Micks parting gifts to us so we need to get our moneys worth to some degree.

Chambers on 18:09 - Jan 2 with 1514 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I watched the match back today and thought he (Samuels) and Akinfenwa did what they do very well. Chambers looked poor but so did Wilson up against either of them. Woolfenden may have been a little lucky to get away with one on Akinfenwa in the box - camera angle made it impossible to see and ref was a long way away but the Beast thought Woolfenden had pulled his shirt. Clearly they are Wycombe's strength. I thought their left back was woeful on set pieces and Judge had a better game when I played it back then I remembered watching it live. You don’t need to be tall to play that role if the service is in behind the centre backs.

I half agree with you on the lone striker bit, but to be a target man you have to have a physical presence. At this level a ball that by passes the midfield will invariably be in the air.
