Yeah, I’ve been wondering what…. on 21:23 - Nov 4 with 1006 views | Bloots |
….the issue was with it for the last couple of days. I expect it’s just pretentious hipsters and faux middle class knobbers that are trying to look cool by dissing it. It is what it is, a roll with cheese and onion in it, a cheese and onion roll. Good value too.

Indeed. Decent lump of cheese. Tho I'd lose the raw onion, never fond of that.

Love onion, and it's one of those rare ones where I prefer the nostril-burning white to a milder red, (if I ever make one for Gainsborough I'll make an exception). The [late] Noel of Bury market fame made a decent living over the years keeping things simple. He offered: Burgers Cheeseburgers; (the processed sliced stuff that goes gooey and is so wrong in any other capacity than a burger stall burger where it is the only acceptable method and real cheese will not do). Bacon Rolls Tea Coffee (instant). On a Saturday you could get cheese rolls*, but only if you pre-ordered by Wednesday. He would also add white onion if you asked nicely. I doubt Noel knew red onions existed anyway. *Fresh crusty bread. Probably from Tooks. [Post edited 4 Nov 2022 21:39]

If the onion weren't there, whack a load of piccalilli in. Otherwise, I agree - Heinz Salad Cream complements a cheese and onion sarnie perfectly.
