Think he’s a cracking price for an each way punt today. For a horse that has only started single figures once in his last 11 starts, you may wonder why. However, I think the desperate conditions today from the rain will certainly suit. He’s simply a much better horse when running on heavy. In fact, all of his best runs have come on heavy or soft. Last time out he ran alright on his seasonal reappearance which I think will put him spot on for this. He’s one of a few who will surely stay the trip and now the ground has come in his favour, I make 25s clear value. Also worth noting the trainer has aimed Smooth Stepper at this for a while.

Surooj in the last at Wetherby, trainer does well with a small string of "jumpers" and is his daily hack - might not win today but I expect to make a decent hurdler - worth following John Berry on Twitter if you don't already,
