Someone I know on facebook has put £100 on "blacklivesmatter" as first goalscorer in a Prem game.
Apart from the fact it's a disgrace against the movement, how on earth would this work? Even if they have "blacklivesmatter" on the back of their shirts, that's not their name!

It was the first Helsingborg game 0-0 on BBC2.
At the closing of the programme he announced they'd be back for the next leg, pretty much stemmed off a yawn, and said "Can't wait".

I have to say I'm not getting the 'police lives matter' thing at all. Was that a deliberate provocation or is he just a bit, extremely, pig-ignorant thick?
But the other thing about the shirts is innocent enough - it really does seem to be simple reference to the shirt 'names' and hedging one's bets.
It's not a great joke admittedly, and I can't see it winning many awards. |

Whereas the post that Dollers saw from his FB “friend“ was from somebody who he knows to be racist and preceded the BLM post with a a police Lives Matter post.
So in the context of who made the Facebook post there was no self depreciating humour. It was another in a long history of racist posts.

You'll probably not take any notice, as you didn't of Sitters' and Jeera's explans, but it's a betting on football thing - #BlackLivesMatter being on the back of all 22 players' shirts meant that whoever put money on the first scorer bearing that "name" on the back of the shirt, meaning that the gambler would be guaranteed to win. Except of course that the bookie wouldn't have accepted the bet. It was a jokey play on words, any phrase on the back of all 22 shirts could have been used the same way. Nothing whatsoever to do with racism or the actual movement #BlackLivesMatter. |

I thought Moose's suggestion of trying substituting the BLM text with, say East Anglia Air Ambulance to highlight no disrespect was being shown, was good. Or to really drive the point home, maybe BB could imagine swapping the BLM message with "support cancer research". | |

Really mate, you are over reacting to this one. It in no way takes the p1ss out of the black lives matter movement. A joke is a joke and should be treated as so. Please never go and see a comedian live, you will be beside yourself come the end.
