Just seen the news that opposition has won the general elections in Malaysia for the first time since independence. Not a country I'd have expected to see that happen in anytime soon. The BBC had an article a few days ago about how people weren't even bothering to register to vote as they assumed it wouldn't make a difference.
And this comes shortly after the Armenians ousting their long-time leader (I have a few Armenian friends from uni and they are very chuffed).
Wonder whether we'll get any other surprises this year — Zimbabwe???
