Immigration from the EU was a big thing for them and it's going to simply be replaced with immigration from HK.
It's the right thing to do but am surprised there hasn't been any outrage about it.

Agree. It's reasonably duplicitous for Brexiteers.
By the time they've considered all the factors like our historical involvement, China's aggression, the one country two systems intention, the incredibly high GDP, the majority of HK speaking English I'd assume they will have moved onto something more simple to form a cogent opinion on like Strictly or whether they like fish and chips. | |

Yes, it’s patent nonsense that everyone is treated equally in China – and the claim that they don’t see race or religion is as unconvincing as when our own racists and religious hardliners say the same thing.
On a side but not unconnected note, it’s also interesting how many right-wingers have really gotten their teeth into the Uighur situation and Hong Kong. I can’t help thinking it’s more about fighting China and defending their own interests because they never show much if any interest in other oppressed Muslims or democratic rights at home or abroad. |  |
