Anyone think Ashton's 'extensive search'... 20:26 - Dec 5 with 2672 viewsOriginalMarkyP

...will be about as extensive as the search you have for your three-year-old when playing hide and seek?

Oh, well he isn't here...
And, he isn't over there...
Nope, not under the table...
Now where he could he be???

Oh look, BEHIND THE CURTAIN! There you are!!

That wasn't my point.

My point was Ashton knows exactly who he's replacing Cook with before he even got rid of him.

The 'extensive search' is just media speak bollox. The search isn't being started, it's already been done.

Of course it is if it wasn't then he wouldn't be doing a good job as a ceo. He should have been having initial talks weeks ago if he hasn't. Why not.

In that case, no need for mcgreal as a caretaker. New manager announced monday.

I think ashton might actually be semi-genuine. The mcgreal appointment is surely as a caretaker manager.

Based on what he did at Bristol City see my post about their forum, I think he is being genuine , he takes time , he gets so one in cheap, he takes centre stage , all these he did at Bristol.

So could be a while , and Mcgreal could get a chance to land the role if the results are good

I think McGreal interim.

New man announced to coincide with the owners coming over for #PackoutPR

He then gets the January transfer window.

Never going to give a window to an interim manager.

Think it might be Yallop. Not sure I want Yallop.

I really don’t think that would be a good or wise appointment and I would have serious question marks against the new owners decision making!

To swap Yallop for Paul Cook would be a disaster.

If you are cutting the regime of a proven League 1 winner after 4 months into a long term project, you do it for a bloody good reason.

You don’t do it to bring in Frank Yallop, a man who has achieved nothing in management, and has never managed a club outside of the US. His 2013-15 managerial reign at Chicago was one of the worst ever, just a 20% win percentage over 2 seasons.

For that he has never had the opportunity to manage a MLS side again, and has ended up around lower league American sides.

It would probably mark down as the worst decision in the clubs history in my memory.

Then in ipswich banter standard. Worse manager hire who then goes on to win double promotion lol.

I think we might see mcgreal until summer, seasons dead isn't it?

The whole point of sacking Cook now is because the season isn't dead.
