I usually listen to 6 Music... and one on their current 'A list' that every time I hear it makes me think along the lines of when my parents when I was a kid would utter "What is this... it just sounds like noise!" and I tend to either want to retune or switch off.

Anyway, I can, upon hearing the first note of the Archers theme tune either hit the off button or change channel before the second note. Even if I am driving and the manoeuvre requires both hands on the wheel and both eyes on the road. |

I agree with all of this bar one. Coldplay. It doesn’t make me want to reach for the radio button. I confess I have copies of the first three albums, but I never listen to them. Bit like Queen, I had all their albums at one point but stopped listening and don’t wish to. Same thing happened with Oasis.
Radiohead is an interesting one. A chum of mine is a massive fan. Best ever n all that. I’ve really tried, but I just don’t enjoy it.
Jazz? Discordant din that I’ve always loathed. Modern stuff you mention? I’ve tried but not for me.
