Tried a big name in Roy Keane. Failed. Tried experienced CV’s in Cook and Lambert. Failed. Tried a one season wonder in Paul Hurst. Failed. Tried the results > performances route in McCarthy. Eventually failed.

This is one of the biggest appointments Ipswich Town has ever made. A guy PROMOTED from U18 to First Team Coach by none other than Jose Mourinho, one of the greatest managers of all time.

Back the man to the wall, give him time, and watch him succeed.

Don’t we all mate…I think people are forgetting the scale here. He has left the biggest club in the world to join sleepy Ipswich Town.

The problem with Ipswich is that we hire managers and hope they succeed.

Instead of looking for an ethos or strategy that we relentlessly stick to and appointing a manger who can apply it and realise it.

I don't know this McKenna guy. Hopefully he's successful but I'm not sure there is any method in the appointment.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

The main issue with your post is the middle part of the final sentence.

Giving time. Who gets real time now?

Lambert had two years longer than he deserved. Cook had a season's worth of games.

The main issue we've had in recent times is giving failing managers(in particular) too long.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Where 28k fans will turn up on Saturday. To see a team that couldn't score against Barrow ... twice.
