The West Ham - Blackburn penalty shootout finished 9-10, zero saves. (At the end , the Blackburn players all rushed to the keeper, even though he hadn’t layed a mitt on any of West Ham’s ten penalties).

I’m thinking that with the huge benches allowed nowadays, everyone should be taking their best penalty goalkeeper along , - and why not be open about it. American football style. Paul Cooper would have got that cap .

Didn’t Chelsea do that recently - sub their goalie for penalty shoot out - and then lose anyway?

Dean Henderson is our best but Pickford has a good penalty record so probably not worth the sub.

Pope just saved 3 the other nght.
Beasant for Shilton would have improved our chances in 1990. A mate of mine called it in the last few minutes of extra time but such a move was unheard of then.
