I think when we last had a thread that mentioned cult figures it showed that people have different definitions of cult. For me personally it could never include players like Beattie who were just indisputably excellent. But it would include players that were usually pretty good, but also quirky and whom the crowd rejoiced to see even allowing for, and perhaps, because of, their unusual approach or demeanour - as such I'd include Shefki, Ian Marshall and Taricco (though he was better than the usual candidates, but I would include because of his on-the-sleeve "wholehearted" approach). |  |

Let me firstly state for the record that he was a great player - loved him but this is going to be controversial.
He's the worst signing in Ipswich Town history - the minute we signed him we were doomed to relegation.

Yeah I tend to agree, The Beat is an all time legend, but to fair he could make most lists, club legend, cult hero, best player to ever wear the shirt, too many superlatives really. | |
