Can we please stop with the Cook Out stuff? 17:20 - Aug 29 with 5321 viewsScottCandage

Here's why. For new owners to buy the club, fund a manager (who they said they would have hired anyway but ME finally did something right) properly in order to overhaul and entire first team. It would be the act of COMPLETE IDIOTS to fire that manager after 5 league matches. It would be COMPLETE LUNACY. And nothing that Gamechanger/Ashton have done in their time here lead me to believe they are idiots or lunatics.

That being the case, the Cook Out stuff just seems really negative. And frankly, it's not needed by the team, and it makes following ITFC so difficult. We're had SO much negativity over the past 10 years. We finally have a sunny day. Please don't complain about a sunny day.

Where is the Cook out stuff?

Folk are disappointed. Rightly. 4 wins in 22 is shocking. But still, 5% out at this point.

Upped by mistake.

I just want to know who has called for Cooks head? I simply haven’t seen any.

Some are very clever

You'll see " he's had 4 wins in 22, he's done nothing, he'll do nothing, it's not good enough, surely the owners can see it" but then haven't got the balls to say cook out. then spend the rest of their time saying they're just sharing their frustrations.

It's funny

I'm clearly a PC fan, I still believe he will do great things If he doesn't then oops im wrong. but I won't hide behind a keyboard and pretend I have another stance.

There are many on here who are very very obvious on where they stand, but as I say, haven;t for some reason on a forum, got the guts to say exactly where they stand.

Then you see replies like this thread on ' theres not much cook out' posts etc. it's almost as if you're supposed to be blind to them.

Have not got th e guts to say , ok I say cook out , I honestly don’t think he is any good without Richardson , hope I’m wrong by the way

Good grief no. Dai was nowhere near good enough, and I don’t say that easily as I remember him coming through the ranks down here. In principle Hladky should be more than good enough. He’s got a decent pedigree and was attracting a decent amount of attention just 15 months ago.

In principle he should be; in practice I think we'd have more points on the board if Cornell had been in goal over Hladky. Long term, hopefully you're right.

There hasn’t really been any. He’s had an incredibly easy ride. Many other clubs would have hit far more venomous by now.

Apart from that, I agree.

Ah, you want it to be polarised.

People can question cook and be disappointed by Cook, while not wanting him sacked.

He needs to go because we've seen this movie before. 5 games without a win will become 10 and once we do win in mid October, it won't lead to a run of victories because it never does. We've already seen that he's brought in players who don't have courage to win games of football (Fraser's pathetic penalty at Burton, Bonne's miss at Cheltenham, the inability to hold or build on leads, Hladky's general uselessness whenever he has to make a decision or even a save.) We have coaches with no experience or pedigree and Cook knows deep down that he's bungled this. They wouldn't listen to him last season and this season 's new crop don't want to win games for him either. The crowd will be calling for his head by the end of September and deservedly so.

I am not being clever. Here is my position.

I do not think Cook should be sacked today.

Cook has not got the defence right and we are not winning games because of that.

He has few games left to get that defence right.

If we have not got at least a couple of clean sheets and at least 2 wins in the next 5 matches he will be gone.

10 points from 10 matches leaves us with a lot to do in the other 3/4 of the season. Fewer than 10 points leaves us with a massive ask.

That is not me being a Cook outer. However, the improvement needs to come soon or I will agree with what I see as the inevitable decision that would come.

I think people are complaining about being 21st in the table. And about how Cook did worse last year than Lambert.

I'm not sure where your sunny day metaphor comes from, but being 21st in league one is not a sunny day. It is the darkest day the club has had in my 41 years on this planet.

Yes, absolutely right. He has not got the defence right. He decimated it and failed to build it back to anything close to last season. He should be given more time to sort it. But so far, the defence has been a dog's dinner of decision making.

Whilst you maybe right... I would be surprised if he got the shove only 5 weeks from the window closing, esp with potentially Morsy etc coming in.

Still think they will be alot more patient than some of the fans tbh. Otherwise why allow him to rebuild it in the way he has to get rid 8 weeks later.

We can't be the ONLY club that basically forms a cult around under performing and/or patently crap managers can we?

Keane, Lambert and now it's starting with Cook(I don't think Hurst had long enough for that to happen).

I mean, I'm firmly of the view that we shouldn't be shouting 'Cook out' yet, but the blind refusal to see problems is simply.....I mean......I just don't get it.

All I see are positives for the great new future.

I like the fact you're taking a different angle as a forum troll but you still need to work on the subtle style.

I'm not calling for Cook Out but I really wouldn't be disappointed if he did leave. I did warn how awful he was last season was massive cause for concern but I was regularly told that meant nothing. Maybe I was onto something..

It's not going to be come what may though, is it? Somewhere between 3 points from 10 games and 18 points there's a line he'll have to stay above.

I’ve steered clear of the forum and twitter since 5pm yesterday …. But has there been all that much Cook out stuff? All I’ve seen, is people quite worried about a manager with 4 wins from 22 games. People have valid points, but may not necessarily be calling for Cooks head.

I think 0 wins out of 5 is more pertinent. Last season is irrelevant; different team, different structure etc. We’ll be ok.

I don't think it'll be points based just yet, there will prob be a time, but not yet

We're very close to things moving in a different direction, 1 minute close even.

We've scored 9, missed a pen, bonne missed sitter, indivudal errors galore. We're close.

Under Hurst as a direct comparison as it's made quite often, understandably.... It never felt like it we were close to the tide turning.

Come now, you honestly think he'd survive 5 straight defeats and no win in 10? No club in the entire football league would let that continue.

Any pressure Cook is under is self inflicted. While no one is really calling for his head he must know that if doesn’t improve a leaky defence, or start scoring goals for fun, there will be even more pressure applied.

Has he the courage to change his coaching team?
