I was chatting about this to my wife last night, and had forgotten until she reminded me, that a mate was seeing a girl who was a runner on Loose Women, and that after Brand had been on he'd got her number and just had hounded her with messages and voicemails for a few weeks until he gave up after nothing back. I'm sure there were dozens of girls getting this treatment as well.
I guess it's not until you think through the consequences of it, that these girls often felt pressurised, that in some cases their jobs ended up depending on it because they worried about not getting more work etc. It's incredibly sad for what at the time probably just felt like a sex pest looking for another notch on his bedpost.
I watched She Said the other day, which is a movie about Weinstein and very good on this, that people who rejected his overtures basically were forced out of the industry because he wielded so much power. It was similar and an old employer of my wife's when she worked on a provate yacht where the ships captains and even more so the boat owners were treated as God - fall out with one of them and no one else would touch you |  |
