We need to stop thinking comparisons between our relationship with the EU and the EU's relationship with countries like Canada are especially helpful. Our economy and theirs are far more closely linked and we are a near neighbour and potential competitor. It was always going to be the case that they would not accept us being able to give ourselves a big competitive advantage over them whilst still allowing us full and free access to their markets. It's have your cake and eat it stuff.

Well done Brexit voters part 527 on 08:33 - Feb 11 with 2286 views | Steve_M | It would still have been possible to leave the EU and not cause this level of destruction to UK businesses and interests. The fault for that lies with the Tory party and it's approach to it's loonier MPs over the last four years.

As I said a couple of days ago: "We could do this all day, but I don't think most Brexiteers give a monkeys or feel any responsibility". Or "it has happened so it's no good pining over what was lost. But we have to work to minimise the impacts, rather than just "get over it."" "You'll find most of the people telling us to get over it are those who haven't been directly affected. For those of us who have, it's been nothing but a pain in the backside and will continue to make life more difficult."

It's just a bit confusing this, because on the one hand we're told that these are intelligent people with Very Real Concerns and that of course they knew what they were voting for; and on the other we're told that 17.4m people were duped and couldn't possibly have known what they were voting for. So, where do we draw the line about grown-ups with internet access still believing in fairy tales on the sides of buses? I'm not quite ready to forgive them yet. [Post edited 11 Feb 2021 9:47]

Shame in particular on those posters who, having done the damage, have changed their minds. J2 is young and naive and so more or less forgiven; he will have a long time to suffer the consequences of his action. Others, old and supposedly wiser have no such excuse other than a rather odious set of libertarian 'principles'. 'Libertarian principles' is of course an oxymoron.

It is a bit like being punched in face, isn’t it? If someone were to punch you in the face, it happened, you can’t change it, so you just move on. Correct?

If none of us can change it why are the UK Government now demanding that the EU change what they themselves signed up to, err, six weeks ago?

'Analogy plays a significant role in problem solving, as well as decision making, argumentation, perception, generalisation, memory, creativity, invention, prediction, emotion, explanation, conceptualisation and communication.' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analogy eireblue communicated what he meant well enough to me, it formed a decent argument to my perceptions and explained the problem. How come you didn't get it?

You're an early frontrunner for most pointless poster I believe. It's a tough field, so you've done well to standout as particularly pointless.
