Brilliant stuff from Murray 10:35 - Jan 14 with 1760 viewsStokieBlue

To take a set off the world number 22 who just beat Djokovic and won his last tournament whilst barely being able to run is really quite something. Shows the real gap the top 4 had over the others when fit.

Even if (likely when) he loses this set that’s still something pretty impressive.

I have loved watching Andy Murray's career, and he's giving it all he can to end with his head held high. Lets hope his little brother has the same Murray Magic as Andy.

Credit to him for putting on a show & making a game of it against a good player. He had to take painkillers before playing & this is pretty much the end, but he's had a superb career.

Yes all credit to him, he has always been a fighter and it looks like he will continue to be until the end.

It would be amazing if he could somehow win this match.

Quite - most people with his injury wouldn't be doing much more than walking with a stick.

I was very mistaken on his age, whenever I saw him play i though he looked really young. Needless to say I was incorrect

Two of the reasons people love him - his flair, and that he's such a fighter!

Have admit to a sneaking slight sympathy with his opponent today, 9,990 of the 10,000 crowd are on side Murray and not holding back from expressing that!

Insane stuff really.

World number 22, winner of the Doha open just last month and he's been pegged back from 2 sets up by someone who can't walk between points.

This is why Murray got all the accolades last week which some people were complaining about.

Amazing stuff.

Went out gloriously in 5th set. Suspect, sadly, we won't see him back on a tennis court except maybe for short fun/exhibition stuff.

Thanks for the excitement, fun, adrenalin, entertainment and exhilaration Andy. You're forgiven the fingernails bitten down to the bone!

That's the match he should bow out on IMO. He's been utterly brilliant for British and world tennis, but he won't be truly appreciated until he officially retries. That match typifies him, his will to win and desire not to give up. Retire now AM, you've done your bit and left behind a terrific legacy. Enjoy your time with your young family and saviour what you've achieved in your career.
