So basically there's nothing in it, as I said.

I think Herb is right, the world and social media now is a different place to years ago , when Evans bought us. 3 clubs taken over that I can think of in the last few months (Burnley, Wrexham and Sunderland) and all of them, takeover news was in the public domain for 6-9 months before the deal was done.

I know we are desperate but people falling for this stuff is just a bit sad. I'll repeat my previous post on the subject... Just think this through. Prospective new owner.. "Please can I pay you to take your loss making football club from you?" "Please can I pay you to take your football club that needs £6 million pounds of my money just to stay afloat?" "Please can I pay you to take your football club that has loads of run down assets that need additional financial input to be brought up to any sort of standard?" "Please can I pay you to take your football club that doesn't own its own football ground?" "Please can I pay you to take your football club that immediately needs to settle a big pay off with its manager just to stand a vague chance of competing?" "And then, if I somehow get everything absolutely spot on and we get promoted, I still have to put in at least £6 million a year and I can't take any money out because the wages for players is extortionate?" "Oh, and can I do this during a global pandemic when the future of football is uncertain and income is at its historically lowest point in 10s of years?"

Your last comment is exactly what Evan’s did when he took over. No one in their right mind would buy this club. You’d need a bored billionaire Ipswich support. There aren’t many of those to my knowledge!

How much does a new owner have to risk for Premier League status? We've got 6m a year running costs. Our squad is miles away from challenging for promotion from the championship. Let's say in some miracle world we can do it in 5 years. Thats 30m in running costs. We will need significant transfer and wage investment over those 5 years. Let's say 4 of those are in the championship and we try to build slowly. Lets say in fees and wages we spend an extra £8m a year We are now at £62 million with absolutely no guarantee of prem football. Even if we get to the prem, the increase in costs means it would take a few years for him to be able to take his money back out. And thats assuming the new owner got the club for free. Its so unrealistic that I'm concerned for some of our posters like you who seem to think the opposite.
