Thing is though, the Tory party membership are probably mad enough and stupid enough to want Truss.

That is the terrifying hypothesis. Johnson mk 2 here we come.
So depressing

Boom. Tories doing Labour's work for them.

Somebody had to step in and do so. There was no danger of them doing anything themselves.

The Chris Hutchings of political parties, just hanging around in the background until someone else gets binned off.

Johnson, for all his overwhelming personal shortcomings, has the intelligence and verbal dexterity to ride the wave for a while.

Truss can't string a meaningful sentence together without reading from notes and, even then, doesn't look like she's understood what she's said.

Starmer should destroy her at her first PMQs. I suspect he's too much of a "gentleman" to do so.

Mammoth error by the tories if they do this. Sunak's their only hope for a soft landing.

Edit: typo.

Cost of living crisis which is going to get worse and lots of strikes coming up by the looks of it. Can't understand why any of them would want the job at the moment. They could be gone in less than 2 years.

“Can't understand why any of them would want the job at the moment. They could be gone in less than 2 years.”

Think of all the £££ to be made after, dinner speeches, NED’s, lobbying etc. There’s your answer!

This is true. Brexit hitting the fan etc. Not much upside to be had.

They'll be handing out free money and food to keep people alive this coming winter whilst their swivel-eyed colleagues accuse them of being communists.
