Andre Villas-Boas talking about his early days in coaching. He has kept all the letters he received when he started contacting football clubs seeking work as a young coach. “I was writing to all the clubs in the world: ‘I am AVB, I am a small boy from Portugal, would you have a vacancy in your youth levels for me? I have this and this experience’,” he remembers. “It was funny - the English all write back, the secretaries from the past, the secretary that Sir Bobby [Robson, his mentor and neighbour when the Englishman was Porto coach in the 1990s) had in Ipswich, they used to reply all the time. |  |
