Retro ITFC shirts 11:49 - Oct 6 with 3327 views | Miaow | I’m not sure if everybody else would agree, but I quite like these two old Town shirts: 1995-97 home 1995-96 away If Copa were to replicate these as retro shirts I would definitely be interested.

It's a fake shirt, looks decent enough quality and not sold as anything but a fake though - they would get called out for selling Adidas gear if Adidas were aware of it though

Retro ITFC shirts on 12:25 - Oct 6 with 3158 views | clive_baker | Why were the sleeves so long on the away shirt? Can't say I love either of them as a kit particularly, but there's a certain nostalgia to both. My bedroom walls were covered in ITFC related bits from mid to late 90's. I certainly had 95-97 home shirt but don't think I had that away one. It just screams Gus Uhlenbeek to me. I loved the cream and black striped one where they cocked up the spelling of Bury St Edmunds on the Greene King logo.

The home shirt is my favourite memories of Taricco, Gus, Maggie etc.

I’ve bought a few of those fake shirts from Thailand. Good quality and faithful reproductions. I have the original adidas shirts in youths size but the a larger size looks better in a tailors dummy of in a frame so I use the fakes for that. I prefer the fakes to the Copa shirts as they have the badges and stripes. [Post edited 6 Oct 2022 13:19]

Boooo! They are certainly unique. I think that's why I am a bit tempted by them - they are rather of their time. And they are both from the season in which I was born.

I bought the '95 home shirt off ebay from classicfootball_shirts. It was posted from Ukraine. After initially worrying about being fake / never arriving / not being as advertised, I won it for £50 under asking and I'm absolutely made up. It's barely been worn. One of my favourite Ipswich shirts. I'd quite like an orange shirt next, shame this one's too big. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295055381758 I can't bring myself to wear a modern kit, but I love the retro football kit thing.

Put this in the "bloody lovely but too many Xs" category too: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224599435038

The cream and black one is a classic for sure, I've no doubt it's a bit marmite but my favourite from that era I actually think that Maroon and Green one is one of the worst we have had, we had a Maroon and navy one at a later date, clearly not having learnt our lesson

Why do people dislike this kit so much? Is it because of the blue home shorts. At least This shirt doesn't have the horrid Magical Vegas sponsor on it.

Was that taken during a photo shoot promoting your band’s album Technique?

The retro shirts have the distinct advantage of being a bit quirky/unusual. There's a bit of sentiment attached. I can only assume this was our attempt at trying to pull something from the Adidas catalogue of base designs that was so bad nobody else dare play in it. I always thought the chevrons looked like a child had won a competition to design a shirt to make Ipswich players run faster. 2018-19 the first year of Magical Vegas was phenomenally bad though, you're right.

any kit with a local brewery sponsor is automatically a good kit imo, they just then get ranked in a certain order, the green/magenta one may be nearer the bottom of that ranking than the others :) Ive got the fade top, I kind of like it more as the years go by as it gets more retro and distinct from the adidas template kits we had, and is instantly identifiable of a specific era & players. I mean the thing about its a kit you cant not have an opinion on, its either you liked it or you didnt. 30 years from now someone flashes up one of those Marcus Evans Adidas default kits and youll be like yeah was ok I guess, which year was that, who was in our team, which manager etc etc ??? I thought the orange Greene King kit was better than the orange fisons, that was one of those kits I was disappointed when its time ran out, especially as the white away kit that replaced it wasnt anything that special.
