As what was science fiction in my childhood becomes reality, the combination of profit/'progress', society's almost sexual obsession with new technology regardless of the risks, and the horsesh!t about restraint, safeguards and fail-safe procedures seem to me to be a one way street to a Bladerunner-like dystopian near-future!
Just got to find a Pris to take my mind off it. I just read that Debbie Harry turned down the role of Pris actually - although Daryl Hannah did a pretty good job of it, I think my youthful nocturnal manipulations would have been on a different level if Blondie had taken the role! |  |
