Turned the Hundred on and it’s like watching Comical Ali at work 18:23 - Jul 22 with 2461 views | Plums | Standing in front of an empty Oval and they’re repeatedly telling us what a great atmosphere it is! Hilarious. I’m only watching to see if it’s as naff as it sounds. So far, it’s met expectations. [Post edited 22 Jul 2021 18:23]

To get youngsters & those new to cricket into watching Tests, you really need a hook. I wasn't the slightest bit interested in cricket until I happened to be visiting friends' in Cardigan Rd. Leeds in 1981. They had a viewing platform overlooking Headingley, & with a bit of encouragement I watched Botham swing his bat & turn England's losing position into a winning one. I was hooked from then on. I'd say Ashes series are the best for getting newbies in; the old enmity rouses more passion than usual, and these should be the Tests that are prioritised for guaranteed terrestial TV status, both home and away.

It was the 2005 Ashes for me, prior to that I just wondered how a game can take five days to get a draw!

Turned the Hundred on and it’s like watching Comical Ali at work on 20:15 - Jul 22 by Ryorry | I watched it for a whole minute & found it unbearable after that. Those hideous graphics in those lurid colours on 3 sides of our (42") screen actually hurt my eyes. |
That's the only bug bear I had, watching the coverage on sky (didn't know the beeb was showing it) but if the on screen graphics are the same then it's something have to get used to. Other than that I liked it!! Lot of razzmatazz and had an American feel to it.. we will have all that to look forward to when we play Morecombe on opening day ;)
