Saturday’s conditions 11:52 - Aug 11 with 1574 viewsLeistonBlue

Looking like the temperature could be low-mid 30s for the game on Saturday. How much of an affect do we reckon it’ll have on the game? Hearing that some games in the London area might be at risk of being called off with temps of 37+ forecast

If it hit 37, surely it would make more sense to just postpone until 7.45/8pm (when the temperature would have dropped 5c or so)?

I doubt the Council/ Police would agree to that.

My concern for Saturday is that the result becomes a bit of a lottery and not on the merit of the players and team set-up.

Town will need energy and speed of movement to break down MK… and this mental temperatures really don’t allow.

Thank for the long shadow of the Pioneer Stand.

Conditions will be just as harsh for MK… but it’s a shame the heat might spoil what should be a good game.

Why?

MK are a low risk fan base, and evening games aren't exactly unusual.

An 8pm on a Saturday game is unusual though. A 5.30pm might be more likely.

Can’t see them moving the KO time at this stage.. bar staff, stewards, catering etc been organised for 3pm and would be difficult to move now I’d imagine

They won't do but it's not a bad shout is it.

3-5pm is, I think, the warmest part of the day.

The ground will be too dry too putting the players at risk of injury

Doubt it, the pitch gets watered everyday for about 8 hours!

Plus the trains, such as there are, finish well before that.

I wonder if we can turn off the air con in the visitor's changing room?

Met office app says 30dgs at 3pm dropping to 29th so by 4pm. So maybe we’ll escape the really high temps 🤞

Not sure the temp in Ipswich is actually forecast to be much more than the Bolton game?

Thing is that it will be exactly the same for them, so no reason to think that we’ll be especially disadvantaged. Given that, on paper, we have a better team than them we should still have the edge.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?
