Just one more football quiz... 🦜 17:06 - Oct 15 with 4881 views | Miaow | English Football Clubs with Bird Nicknames A bit of a silly one, and hopefully not too difficult either, although I don't think I was actually aware of one of the 13 answers before putting it together. There are four minutes to try and get them all, with all clubs listed playing within the 92. Note: "Budgies" is unfortunately not given as one of the bird-related nicknames. https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/1696326/english-football-clubs-with-bird-ni Cheers. ⚽

Just one more football quiz... 🦜 on 11:22 - Oct 16 by blueasfook | I love these quizzes Miaowwers. I got 11/13. I knew one of the Bluebirds ones (Barrow) but not the other. Also one of the other Magpies I was stumped on. Keep 'em coming. How about something relating to English teams in Europe? Maybe teams to have competed in the UEFA cup or something? |
Cheers! Participants in the UEFA Cup, you say?... Well, that was one I was thinking of doing - all English teams to play in European competition since it came in in the 1950s (excluding things like the Anglo-Italian cup). There have been quite a few. @ Sharkey, I believe the old Colchester Town were the ones originally nicknamed “The Oystermen”. It’s a bit of a shame that they didn’t embrace professionalism themselves as we would probably still have a Colchester club going these days that would date back to 1873, five years older than Ipswich.

I believe Colchester Town had a chocolate-and-pink-quarters kit. Many many years ahead of its time, I'd say.

That sounds very much like what Corinthian-Casuals wear. I like seeing the more unusual football kit colour combinations*, including the sort some of the teams from the Victoria era wore. Sutton United are known as “The Amber and Chocolates” because of their strip. * excluding yellow and green For some entirely meaningless bonus points, can anybody name the four National League (Conference) clubs with bird-related nicknames? (The) Harriers - not very difficult... The Magpies The Ravens The Robins
