Given the vaccination numbers and the study today saying half of the population have antibodies, presumably predominantly the older and vulnerable who have been vaccinated, I am cautiously optimistic that we won’t see any more of these wretched lockdowns.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see another month or so in the run up to next Christmas, hopefully for the last time but I don't think this thing will be done with by the time the weather starts to turn in the autumn.

Surely someone knows who these braindead d*cks are? They need to be punished - bloody idiots. It makes me feel that we will never be out of this living hell.

Outside transmission is quite rare I’m led to believe. Whilst these scenes are far from ideal I wouldn’t worry overly about it if I were you

Some of us have not had the vaccine yet so these people are just selfish idiots!

There will some spread where they are in very close contact, but in general its not that transmissible outside, hence the lifting of all the outside restrictions first. There wasn't a single covid outbreak linked to a crowded beach in the uk last year, for example.

we have had this before, there may not have been an outbreak linked to crowded beaches in many of those coastal areas there was a significant increase in the underlaying infection rates of those areas in the aftermath of the 'crowded beach' incidents

Looking at that clip there, it's not remotely comparable with some people dossing about a beach!
A large number of people of a yet-to-be-vaccinated age getting in each other's faces, physical contact...
There is nothing to compare.
These are morons, not several families pushing their luck a little bit.
Hugging I can forgive.....but litter!! The local syndicalists should flog'em!
Totally agree.
Had some training time with a guy last year, we got on like a house on fire until he threw rubbish out of the window, big row ensued.

We have a jogger who runs through the village and deposits an energy drink can every day...junior picks them up on her monthly litter pick...if I ever catch them!!!!

I'm a very placid person, litter and Roy Keane make my blood boil, think that's about it.

That's going to entirely depend on if there are any nasty variants and whether we can keep them out.
For instance, the government seem determined to let the SA variant in by not adding France to the red list.
A ridiculous move.
