Where have I believed every transfer rumour?
I'm accepted negatives on Cook. Doesnt mean I have to believe what joe put because its joe. As I said in the other thread.. sources are sources. Some are right some are wrong. |

No, there is nothing in my post to suggest joe himself is making it up. I believe he is posting what he has been told.. at this moment I don't believe that source. If it turns out correct, then fine.
Me sharing tweets is to start discussions on the forum about town related content, the forums purpose. You as a poster can decide if you wish to believe the rumour and take part in the discussion. or even if you don't believe the rumour as most are fake anyway, it's still a chance to discuss the player in question. Whilst you're correct in saying that new managers need to earn their reputation and that the 'can do no wrong' section of fans are probably going a little overboard, you can't also be saying things like: "How about Paul Cook find a new club, this regime is going to be a disaster". That was OTT and an emotional reaction, it was not quite what I meant and I subsequently rowed back but didn't want to delete the tweet as had said it. Some took it the wrong way and can see why as it was very poorly worded.
Just feels reminiscent at times of when Hurst was in, and every decision was being celebrated even though you could see some were obviously wrong. We'll see where we are in August, and am looking forward toa nd positive for the new season, just feel mistakes have been made already with regards to how we ended up with a lack of impact - and sure Cook would admit that too |  |

If it was an emotional, spur of the moment type thing though, we've all been there, and fair play to own it and not double down on it.
Personally, I do see why some fans are concerned, and a little haunted by the Hurst era. However, Hurst was saying those things and making those mistakes with a team he had just spent the summer assembling. It just concerns me I keep seeing some old Hurst quotes about the players as proof he was right, and Cook taking similar path and people linking the two and almost forgetting that PH was such a disaster.
I feel confident having Ashton in, it's been too long since we've had someone running things properly and that will be the big difference maker for me - at the minute I think this is far more important than the manager and their relationship will be what dictates our (hopeful) success.
Feels like a genuine 'new era' now, in almost every facet - it was overdue to be fair. | |

It isn't about circle of mates - It is about a bunch of people with a similar reaction who can't bite their tongue any more.
I get it, to get a scoop is exciting for some people, especially if it ends up on the news pages - but this isn't some kind of popularity contest for analysing every bit of rubbish news around ITFC.
Ignoring/Div list is usually the most diplomatic option, but when you're making new posts almost identical to other ones because commenting on that thread isn't enough, then making implications of other people's researched opinions as 'anyone can make something up' - the presence of messages that can not be seen all over the place makes people unignorably.
Try being part of the conversations instead of trying to be the conversations - you'll find a lot of attitudes towards you will quickly change for the better. [Post edited 4 Jun 2021 2:51]

Cook was my choice, and still is, but the bit I'm unhappy with so far is the way he has treated players publicly.
Like you, I'm confused why people refer to the Hurst era and similar quotes as a potential positive!
