Mark Ashton - new CEO 19:04 - Apr 13 with 4669 viewsFelix1955

Joining you guys having been at AG five seasons.....

The guy is a smooth operator, full of false charm and utterly ruthless. He talks in a very corporate manner and ignored us fans, hardly communicates anything and is despited by us City fans.

We are absolutely delighted to see the back of him.

You guys are welcome to him!

What does that even mean????

I'm an Ipswich fan.

Really? Could have confused me on the merits of this post.

Wow, I haven't had such a complex comeback since before I left primary school. Well done.

Not sure why you're getting a hard time. We'd be doing exactly the same if Marcus Evans bought another club.

The difference is that ME has been an utter, utter failure 'leading' the club to it's worse state in 60+ years. Ashton hasn't, even if he is a ruthless arse. The only thing this thread shows is that the OP and his fellow fan that jumped in to support him have no idea of what we've been through over the last 13 years. Ashton may not be the bees knees, but we haven't even had a bee previously. ME wouldn't even pay for a bee hive or, worse, didn't realise that you needed one if you wanted to keep bees! (I'm not sure where this analogy is going in case you hadn't noticed )

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Seems like you're quite obsessed with him, the fact you've gone to the effort of signing up to our forum. Jealous? Feel betrayed?

I dug Ed out on here after City signed Webster - or Webdini as we renamed him. Fantastic CB best I’d seen in 50+ years at AG.

Pity he was only with us one season. Liverpool should have signed him when Van Dyk got injured.

You clearly place stock in sticking up for the Bristol City fan's bellyaching about having a CEO, something we've lacked and needed for over a decade.

I'm personally quite fed up of having to watch our club's administration getting kicked pillar to post before it is all set up - had enough of that crap from Evans' reign to be frank and fair.

I am leaving this right here though. No use fouling up the board for everyone on the account of Bristol City's followers.

If you're referring to me as his 'fellow fan' then I don't even know the fella, or anyone else on here. I'm a very infrequent poster but have been here years reading a lot more than I post.

My POV? Bristol City have gone slowly backwards in the last few years much as we did in the Champo and have continued to do so in L1 (our third season there starting in August). The way football is now the responsibility for any such decline lies solely with the money men and their decisions. The people it's hardest to remove.

Clubs really don't belong to fans any more. They just provide the honey so the Queen Bee can get fat off their never-ending droning.

Bristol City finished 8th in the Championship 2 seasons ago.

I'd take going backwards in the Championship over League 1

Could you come back next season? We're really not in the mood right now.

But we didn't, hence we are now going backwards in L1. Remember the talk that it was crucial for us to get back at the first attempt? Next season will be our third, and i'm increasingly less hopeful with every season that goes by.

Bristol City were regularly there and thereabouts for a few season, much as we were for a time. The divide from the Prem yoyo clubs and the rest of the Champo grows every year.

Your owner’s the problem.
Lost interest in the football team and turned his attention on your egg-chasing tenants.
Not surprised though, because I’ve never come across a bigger bunch of over-entitled nudgers than your club’s followers.

Up the Pirates. The blue half is the best half of Bristol.
