He's been a vindictive stirring ***t who openly admitted if it were one of his own players he'd have no issue with it.
Caused us potential damage, petty for the sake of it.

4 matches I could handle if unprovoked he clearly thows a punch.
However two things:
1) it's far from clear it's a punch, and left no sign of any injury of the player (unlike edmundson) which probably indicates it was more of a shove. Nothing clear and obvious either way. You don't tend to throw a punch on the move but more shove or handoff as i think Morsy is doing here. It's a yellow card offence.
2) Their player actually puts his arm out first and Morsy responds to that as basically trying to get him out of the way.
FA is not fit for purpose. Absolute disgrace of a decision.

the first 2 or 3 times i watched it I thought the same. But pause it frame by frame. The Accrington player stuck out an arm to try to stop Morsy from running to where the ball was about to be thrown in. Deliberately obstructing someone who doesn't have the ball. Morsy then whips his arm up to try and either (i) punch the guy or (ii) to push him away and get to where the ball is coming in. Absolutely no doubt that the first act of aggression was from the AS player. So unless there is another video form a different angle, I just don't see how they could be sure that he punched the guy. That is factual.
After the first game, Morsy was highly critical of the way AS play. The speculation bit is this: did AS decide to get at Morsy and target him specifically as an act of retribution against his critical comments to try and get him sent off? Did the guy (Hamilton) throw himself down to simulate a punch as part of that strategy? I know what I think, but without that other camera angle, who can tell? |  |

Bit of an overreaction?
I think the playoffs are a long shot but nothing to do with the Morsy ban but the ground we have to make up.
We should be able to cope and it’s a chance for players to really step up now. Caroll 2nd half improved massively on Saturday and hopefully others can do so.
Keep up our form and then have a fresh and no doubt angry Morsy ready for the last 15 games could be a big thing.
They are not over just because Morsy has this ban. | |
