Ten double-decker coach loads of coppers to protect the interests of the elite who are mates with the very wealthy.

But on some forsaken estate in an unfashionable area - nothing.

Shameful, utter shameful.

It speaks volumes innit. Even a sanctioned guy gets the police out in force as long as he's rich enough. You're right it is shameful.

I’m certainly not one of those pricks who write ACAB every time a thread pops-up about the police. But, they don’t help themselves at all. It’s not the fault of the ordinary copper, but somewhere along the line someone with influence (most probably wealthy who knows the right handshake) has asked their high ranking police friend to come down in force.

It’s ridiculous.

Ok, rant over - anarchy is childish but sending in so many coppers is awful to see.

Proportionate to the wealth of the property owner.

Have to protect the elite, doesn't matter how they managed to acquire that wealth.

Gotta feel for that lady.

Don't care who's doing the damage that's fecking unacceptable.

I have to say I've never understood squatting laws; how someone can break into another's home and help themselves. And yes, usually people don't leave their own homes unlocked with the door open but I guess that's not easy to prove.

I am referring to people like this lady of course and her own home, not some billionaire's mansion sitting there empty whilst people live on the streets nearby.

Yes bit of an old article, but just wanted to contrast the differing levels of service (and laws it seems), for the rich and powerful (and Russian ‘businessmen’).

This is taken from the government website.

Squatting in residential buildings (like a house or flat) is illegal. It can lead to 6 months in prison, a £5,000 fine or both. Anyone who originally enters a property with the permission of the landlord is not a squatter.

Squatter's Rights — When Squatting can be Legal

If a person, or people, squats continuously in a property over a period of at least 10 years (12 years if the property is not registered with HM Land Registry) then they may be able to apply for ownership of it in law under what is known as adverse possession.
