£750k for Donkeycien, less than a month later he’s available for loan. on 09:22 - Jan 18 with 1746 viewsBluefish

It wasn't really one month after buying him though was it. The transfer was done in the summer but the paperwork had to complete. He couldn't be loaned out until it was competed and there was no way back.

Under keane this was normal behaviour, we spent around 4 million on Martin and Priskin and they were both so bad that we loaned them out and then let them go for free. Our fans idolised keane and many still can't accept the damage he did.

Donacien was an odd one, often went from awful to decent within the same game and usually this was due to him starting out of position before being moved to right back. All his better performances came at right back and he got forward well in addition to defending well one on one with his pace. Lambert clearly doesn't fancy him there and he's not good enough in any other position so it looks to me like he's already done here.

Bit harsh calling him Donkeycien. When he did play, he looked decent. But PL clearly doesn't rate him, for one reason or another.

Also don't agree with the Donkeycien tag.

I think that this headline is unjust, and unfair.
Donacien would have made a far better job at RIGHT BACK if given the same amount of chances as Spence in that position,
I think that it is my only gripe about PL, who otherwise has been a breath of fresh air for the club.

Quite amusing how many people are still convinced that he could have been a Championship-quality right back, despite the only person who seemed to share this view being the worst manager in Ipswich Town history

People are convinced he would have been a better option than the player currently impersonating a Championship-quality right back, which he looked like he would have been.

And yet Lambert would rather pack him off on loan than keep him around to even compete with Spence

Because he’s dogsh*t

Lambert sees him as a CB and he's clearly well down the pecking order there so he goes out on loan.

That's his call and that's fair enough.

He saw his best position as CB, but managers do play players in other positions if they think they’re better then than the other options

Clearly this hasn’t been the case with Donacien, because he’s sh*te

Has to be the most bizarre transfer saga we've ever been involved in.

Signs on a loan while waiting for clearance.
Starts at centre back and has a shocker opening day.
Moves to full back same game and does loads better.
Plays another 2 or 3 positions before manager is sacked but is in and out of side.
New manager calls him a centre back.
Signs full time.
Goes out on loan.
Will never play for Town again.

Wonder what sort of fee we may receive in the summer, guessing less than half of what we paid. Paul Hurst at his finest, tool.

O’callahan? Under Magic wasn’t it?

Then there was that chap (Kourmara?) under Jewell who took 20 years to get paperwork sorted and never played.

Think the Norris transfer trumps all for tome took.
