I bet he gets some stick from his brother-in-law, Ipswich's own Richard Ayoade.

Mate! Ayoade is genuinely funny. Maurice Moss in the IT Crowd; Dean Lerner in Garth Marenghi's Dark place, plus very decent in Nathan Barley. He did Travelman on Prime, too, which is prone to moments of genius. As an aside, Laurence Fox will have the same relevance as Hatey Hopkins in 5 years.

Is there an equivalent term for the right-wing version of virtue signalling? 'Idiot identifier'? 'Bigot bannering'?

I think it's just simply called vice signaling. [Post edited 7 Oct 2020 18:51]

Your Marxism is showing. They're called 'Bumboys' not 'Gay'.

He's genuinely vile. Another spoilt white bloke who has never been told to shut up enough. I hope they sue him into ruin and give all the money to Stonewall and the like.

"We're here, but should we have come?" I love Travel Man and Ayoade is a funny guy. As for Fox, he's thick as sh1t.

On top of that, what sort of stupid c*nt picks a fight with a drag queen? I'd rather go toe-to-toe with Tyson Fury than start a row with one off them. I hope he ends up on the f*cking street, might stand a chance of learning some basic bloody empathy for others then.

Looks like Fox is just a bit stupid, do maybe it'll take bankruptcy to shut him up.

Travel Man really does depend on whoever Ayoade is paired with. The shows with Kathy Burke and Matt Kucas are both ace, and the one with Bob Mortimer in Hamburg is immense. Then there's other times where there's no real connection there - one with Rob Delaney where the two of them really don't seem to like one another, and it shows. Ayoade is tremendously awkward, which is inherently funny. I watched Submarine (film he directed, with backing from Ben Stiller) recently - it's pretty good.

Quite. I've been to a few drag shows around NY. Drag Queens are fooking terrifying. With just a glance they can know the tinniest secret thing someone is insecure about and absolutely crush people with it! You do not want to get into a heckling contest with a queen. It will be a bloodbath. I imagine growing up othered, and putting yourself on a stage in front of God knows who on a regular basis, gives you a rather tough exterior and a supreme ability to think on your feet.

I admire your confidence that these people will become irrelevant so quickly but unfortunately there are far too many who support their ideology for that to happen in my opinion. I really hope you are right but fear you are wrong.

I have discovered RA very late on so missed the Gadget Man/IT Crowd stuff. Know what you mean about the guests on TM, Kathy Burke made a decent contrast and Bob Mortimer is always good value. Submarine, 10 years old and I've never seen it. One for the list there then.
