Yet again, he's behind the curveball, fully expect a nationwide lockdown.

Not surprising, what annoys me is that they knew about this mid december, if they had said January full lockdown knowing we can immunise quite a large majority in those 4 weeks no one would have batted an eyelid (Excuse the pun)

How different to what we have now will a full lockdown be realistically?

It's also not a presser. He's just going to release a statement, which conveniently means he wont face any questions.

Depends where you live / work etc as to how it impacts you. Schools closing is a big deal if you have kids in school.

I'm hearing, from a very good source, it's proper proper lockdown. 1 piece of exercise a day type jobby. All the good sh1t.

I entirely agree with the course of action.

Just a joke it's taken this long to get to that point. I've also been told there's still some debate as to whether Primary schools close, which feels utterly bonkers if we're talking about a full lockdown.

Can hardly say "Year 11/13 pupil, you can't go to school in this crucial year of your education/future, but hey Prem footballers, keep kicking that ball around and having little illegal parties".

And don't give me that "its good for mental health of the nation" to$$

Entertainment for millions of people who are being told to stay home.

If it's safe and they can continue then it really does make sense.

Absolutely none, apart from schools not going back.

Everybody that’s out working at the minute, will continue to do so, I imagine.

Places like B&M, The Range, Home Bargains will all stay open and be absolutely rammed on weekends with people going for something to do.

Ah good, some utterly pointless measures thrown in too then.

After all we all know how dangerous it is being outside, in the open air, away from crowds. Much better to be cooped up inside where things can’t spread.

Scotland have unlimited exercise. Nothing to suggest it won't be the same here. I believe Clive 100% but i'd be surprised if this bit hasn't been confused somehow.

Given, I’d imagine, the complete lack of evidence that such a measure does anything beneficial at all I wouldn’t expect it to be included. But I expect nothing remotely logical from this government so I suppose it’s anybody’s guess.

Should have done it the week before the schools broke up for Xmas hols. The priority should have been people’s lives and protecting the NHS’ ability to save them. All this nonsense about Christmas was just politics being played out. Same with schools. The rapid rise half way through September correlates to the start of the winter term. Add in an unwillingness and inability to enforce anything along with a large percentage of the population that just doesn’t care and here we are.

Ironically it’s not people like my youngish neighbours who’ve done exactly as they liked when they liked, visitors, Spain golf trip, New Year’s Eve party with their chums etc etc that pay - it’s the vulnerable people they come in contact with, if they contract this dreadful virus, that’ll get ill and possibly die.
