I would have no issues if it weren’t Warnock or Harris and we went down a different route, do you have any other names that spring to mind?

Anthony Barry, Liam Manning, Des Buckingham or a foreign coach ala the Barnsley route.

Barry seems well regarded. I’d like Manning, but don’t think he’d move currently. Don’t know anything about Des Buckingham, who is he?

If it were a foreign coach, suspect it will come out of the blue.

Why does it? We’d be back in the same position in 6 months and in no better position.

Woeful appointment, and one I’m quite confident, along with Harris, won’t happen.

I will be seriously questioning the new ownership if either Warnock or Harris come in. It feels like they've all taken leave of their senses and thrown the baby out with the bathwater. Please, for God's sake, build for the future. We don't need a decrepit old man.

When you say build for the future, name me a club with a long term manager… bet you can count it on one hand.. football is a results business.. get someone in who can get us out of this sh1te league quick, everyone dreaming of patience and a manager building a team over time is deluded, we all want out of this league.. money talks bull sh1t walks.

I’d take him above Harris, Bircham or Terry. Lennon or Neil for that matter.

He will probably get us promoted. Anything but pointless.

Hope it's not Colin simply so I don't have to explain to my 8 year old son why everyone calls the new manager Colin....

If you think Warnock is going to come in and wave a magic wand to such an extent that we hit top 2 form you're deluded. We'd be better off with Mcgraw until May.

Frankly I just can't believe we're in as much disarray as this so soon into Gamechanger's ownership.

I never said top 2 .. I said give him a 2 year contract. I look at what’s names are being suggested, and my heart sinks, if we get out of this league and with financial backing, we should attract much better in the championship.. game changer ain’t here to see a return in ten years either.

He won’t sign a 2 year contract. He’s retiring next summer.

Maybe a short term appointment allows us to get our number 1 or a better target in the summer?

A good proportion of our transfer dealings in the summer came fairly out of the blue didn't they? Much speculation over others, some of whom signed and many of whom didn't. I suspect there is every chance a different name will appear at some point and then be appointed very soon after.

If it is Warnock (I am not keen) it would make sense if someone like Kieron was involved in order to learn from him.

What’s the point in that? As someone else said, Warnock isn’t going to come in here, wave a wand and we all of sudden get promoted.

If that’s the case I’d rather a) have kept Cook or b) leave McGreal in till end of season.

Imagine sacking Cook for 73 year old Warnock.

Think Ashton would have to walk out to Benny Hill music v Sunderland if that is true.

It wouldn’t just be sacking Cook for the cause though. It’d be sacking Cook, Cook with the opportunity of McGreal’s support and then McGreal too.

Looking down the list of linked managers, it’s pretty uninspiring and i think we’re all clinging to the fact this crew are going to dazzle us by pulling something incredible out of the bag. Looking forward to Ashton, O’Leary and crew getting back in front of the cameras - there’s a lot of explaining and rationalising to do at the moment given the linked talent pool.

If aim is to get promoted this season NW on a shirt term deal probably gives you a better chance than most (and would step aside in the summer)

It's not the route I want to go down but for me it is a better shout than a Harris who will want to get his teeth stick into a project if going ultra short term.

I know Phil and local journos don't think he is under consideration but still hearing a lot of noise re John Terry

I’m just crossing my fingers that it’s not the grade A mess it looks. Warnock??? Ten or fifteen years ago, maybe. Jeez, not now. They’ve talked a lot about structure and building for the future, ambition etc etc. if the people suggested are all there is, that just tells me it was all hot air.

With the season just about done, why not leave it to McG/KD? Give them a go. They’re not going to offer any less than what’s on the laughable, largely unrealistic list we’ve seen - assuming that’s correct.

This season is going to be very very difficult to get anything out of I would think, Warnock or not.

Terry would make me nervous, as well as being an utter bell end, he’s also a thick chav and I would question if he has anything like the temperament to make a successful manager. It would be such a ridiculously risky appointment.

I too am not overly keen on John Terry.

But from what I hear and what I've read, he is extremely highly thought of as a coach, well respected as a coach at Villa. Also has evident leadership qualities, being one of the great captains of the PL Era.

But as you say, blokes a tool. He certainly wouldn't be my choice. But he's a big name, young coach, seems to match everything that the new guys want in a manager.
