Was very quick if it was. In all honesty it looked close but probably onside (they only replayed it once on tv, not through VAR). I just hope it might signal a bit more pragmatism on decisions in that if they’re very close then just go with the on field decision rather than work out if someone’s toe nail is offside. | | | |

Early days for VAR.
It has to stay and will get a lot better.
Think about how it came into effect in cricket and tennis. Now it's critical in getting things right.
I heard some on 606, 5live at the weekend bemoaning it. It's here to stay and will soon make the game run faster and smoother.
If only players stopped harassing the officials and getting on with it.....still we live in hope.

Not really. I don't buy this whole 'if we could hear what they were saying' argument that it would be better. I actually think it works OK, and some of the laws just need to change, in regards to VAR now being part of football. The 1mm Handball law, for example. | |

Yeah - challenges would not work because you would just challenge every goal that went in because say, even if you had two challenges, in general most teams don't concede more than two a game so you would just challenge both of those. A few tweaks of the rules and it will be fine. | |
