The thing is with the United one the foul lead directly to the break that set the goal up, no way should that goal have been allowed, poor poor use of VAR and from having watched a couple of the rugby WC games over the weekend football could learn a lot from this in how to use a TMO properly |  |

When I used to referee (admittedly a long while ago) the offside law was clear daylight between attacker and defender for offside to be given, then the law changed to level. This was introduced to favour the attacker. Therefore, making the game more exciting. Now we're looking a toe nails. Not in the spirit of the game IMO.
