The thing is with the United one the foul lead directly to the break that set the goal up, no way should that goal have been allowed, poor poor use of VAR and from having watched a couple of the rugby WC games over the weekend football could learn a lot from this in how to use a TMO properly

What foul? The bigger injustice was Mane being penalised for having arms and the ball happening to hit it while it was by his side before scoring a good goal.

When I used to referee (admittedly a long while ago) the offside law was clear daylight between attacker and defender for offside to be given, then the law changed to level. This was introduced to favour the attacker. Therefore, making the game more exciting. Now we're looking a toe nails. Not in the spirit of the game IMO. Looking for every decision to be perfect , impossible.
