It can take time for a manager to have an impact 16:23 - Mar 6 with 1291 views | Dubtractor | Look at Sunderland as an example. Johnson came into a solid but underachieving team, they were inconsistent under him for a bit, but now flying. The concern with this season is that we've left it so late that Cook may not really get his ideas across in time to really benefit us, especially with such a packed schedule.

It can take time for a manager to have an impact on 16:32 - Mar 6 with 1236 views | pointofblue | Johnson’s first match in charge (he took over on 5th December, I assume that was after the 1-0 defeat to Wigan) was a 4-0 win at Lincoln. His record is WDDDWLWWDDLWWWDW I’d thanks that kind of start and continuation under Cook. The difference is they have a reliable striker in Wyke.

I'll confess I thought they lost a couple more at the start, but actually was just draws.

Actually, the difference is that hardly any of our players would get near their team or mighty Peterborough’s come to that. The one thing I disagree with Cook’s comments is the one about bigger clubs going forward in that ‘whoever takes them forward is not really the main point, but the clubs will go forward one day because the structures of the clubs are too big’. ITFC were one of the bigger clubs in the Championship. Not now. In what way are we bigger than other League One clubs other than a forest of dead wood otherwise known as a squad, a debt, a tired old stadium and historically a fan base which will be what next year? 10000? 15000? If we ever get promoted under Evans, we will be a minnow trying to punch above it’s weight. We are a mid table League One club looking forward now to our third season in this division. Established. Our peers are Oxford, Plymouth, Blackpool. I exclude Charlton as they have rich backers and will be promoted next year. That’s where we are. [Post edited 6 Mar 2021 17:23]

If we ever get promoted under Evans then we'll be in the dogfight right away as 21st place in the Championship is going to be the only target. But people will still be expecting the miracles from Cook with the Emyr Huws or Ollie Hawkins type of 'quality' in our team. If the takeover falls through then some people will be blaming the manager in the next year or two for the bad results.

It looks like he only took over on the 5th, are we sure he wasn't just in the stands akin to Cook at Accrington?

Norwood would fit in well with Dartford’s team. Between there and League two in a team that creates a boatload of chances from which he can eventually score. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yep. Employing Cook is like using Lynx Africa over the top of BO
It can take time for a manager to have an impact on 22:40 - Mar 6 with 794 views | DBlues | Didn't mean to down arrow but yes no new manager can come into a team and expect to play his way. Cook basically admitted that in his first interview that wouldn't change it too much and with the amount of games close together there won't be as much training sessions. Whatever happens this season it's going to be more of a change with players coming in and out with a pre-season behind them for next season.
It can take time for a manager to have an impact on 22:58 - Mar 6 with 756 views | Godzilla | It will, but I've lost count of the number of times have we played a team with a new manager and lost over the last 10-20 years or so, it nearly always gives players a lift - so why were we the polar opposite of that lift today, what's different with our players -do they believe like some supporters that we are too good for this league. We could still scrape into contention, but there are a lot of changes needed on and off the pitch over the coming months.
