So if a decision is reached today 12:22 - Jun 9 with 1547 viewsitfcsimo

Town do not get in playoffs So does that mean that lambert may get the sack ?

Surly his contract had clauses performance Related and based on where we finished.

I think if I was Evans I'd just wait until we're back playing so there could be as little reason for Lambert to contest the decision as possible.

I think it has those clauses, but doesn't seem any indication that they will be taken up by Evans and think he will be here next year

I make that quite unlikely, although that's just my view. I would imagine Lambert will be here at the start of next season, if we're outside the playoffs after 10-12 games or so it could be then that ME chops him.

Yes, pretty much that. It fits with much of Evans' previous actions although I wouldn't rule out a Summer disagreement over signing players.

We live in hope. Unfortunately I think Covid-19 has just extended Lambert's stay here until at least mid season of the next season we get to play.

And Evans takes a much bigger hit to the pocket for good measure - but I've come round to this view that he'll be here next year

I guess it depends on any clause that might exist. As Libby said above it could get quite sticky legally. Eg. if it's based on league finish, but technically we don't finish the season as it's scrapped, where does that leave it? Or if it is binding, but ME decides to give Lambert another crack next season, does that then mean any clause from this seasons sh1t show is no longer applicable?

Either way I would imagine ME will take the path of least resistance and that's probably to just sit tight and let Lambert spoon up another few months whenever we start again. There's the remote chance of course that we actually do OK, which with Lankester and KVY back there's perhaps a few reasons to believe it could happen.

Let's face it, it he was that easy fooled by Lambert to give him a five year contract, he'll be naive enough to be taken in by Lambert saying 'I can definitely get us up this time'.

I guess unless ME also added in a clause about a pandemic stopping the season early, legally he will have a problem sacking PL based on any clause about not winning promotion/making the playoffs

It would certainly be more complicated than to allow him to play out his inevitable failure.

Thing is though, Evans IS incompetent enough to keep him on.

Right we need to track down the Lambo banner to make sure it can be edited and clearly seen at every game until the shameful bloke walks away from the club or Marcus sacks him
