I guess it depends on any clause that might exist. As Libby said above it could get quite sticky legally. Eg. if it's based on league finish, but technically we don't finish the season as it's scrapped, where does that leave it? Or if it is binding, but ME decides to give Lambert another crack next season, does that then mean any clause from this seasons sh1t show is no longer applicable?
Either way I would imagine ME will take the path of least resistance and that's probably to just sit tight and let Lambert spoon up another few months whenever we start again. There's the remote chance of course that we actually do OK, which with Lankester and KVY back there's perhaps a few reasons to believe it could happen. | |
